My kids love puzzle and problem-solving games.  For me, it justifies giving them some screen time.  It’s a good way for them to have some downtime after homework or on weekends, and makes them think!  Tyler Model 005 reminds me a little bit of their favorite exploration game, Unravel.  Rated E, this one is clean and creative.  It’s also story-based, which makes the game more personal and really fun to play.

I love that players have to find ways to keep Tyler alive.  Keeping him in the light is the best way, but it’s necessary to interact with the environment to make the light.  This makes kids think outside of the box!  Also, collecting accessories helps Tyler utilize special abilities.  Tyler is a cute character to maneuver.

At just $9.99 on the Microsoft XBox Live store, Tyler Model 005 comes in as one of the more affordable games my kids enjoy.   It’s also available on STEAM for those who like to play on the computer.

About the game:

Many years after powering down, a tiny robot named Tyler is accidentally powered back on during a riotous thunderstorm and must discover what has happened to his creator and home.  Set in the 1950s, Tyler: Model 005 is a 3D action-platformer and exploration game where you customize and control a spunky miniature robot as he journeys through a house full of obstacles, puzzles, and foes.
