When my husband has the rare opportunity to take care of our kids on his own, it’s always an adventure. The kids love to “tell on Daddy” when I get back. He might have put mix-and-match pajamas on the kids, or possibly made the movie-theater popcorn instead of the kettle corn that I make. These scenarios remind me that our parenting styles are different, and that it’s good for my kids to experience it! It reminds me of a fun new series I recently read, featuring two sister heroines: Tillie and Clementine. The first book in the series, Tillie & Clementine Noises in the Night, brings the girls to a similar situation.
In this story, Mom has to go to a meeting, so Dad is watching the kids. All seems to go well at first, but the sisters get into a bit of an adventure with Dad’s unexpected help. The book is outrageously cute; kids of all ages will enjoy it! I liked the cute illustrations in the story, which helped to support the text. The title page has a black and white image. My children and I thought it was a coloring book at first! I love the idea of young sisters who work together to solve problems. This is a fun book that you’ll want to check out for the little people in your life.
