Yay! My mom and stepdad are coming to visit for Thanksgiving!!
Wait……I haven’t decorated at.all. for fall.
Luckily, today I came across this beautiful idea that costs next to nothing!! Behold the Thankful Tree:
Here’s my plan….send the kids outside to collect some pretty sticks, shove ‘em in a jar (the sticks, not the kids!), add a raffia bow. Use some of the scrapbook paper that has been gathering dust in my closet and cute some pretty paper circles. Punch a hole in the top. Let the kids and the rest of the fam write notes of gratitude on them. Voila!! Instant decor that looks gorgeous!
And here’s a tip I just have to share with you. It’s so easy it’s pathetic! I always, always, ALWAYS dread having to take my driver’s license out of my wallet because it sticks like superglue inside that tiny little see-through window. Today at the bank, the teller asked if she could make it easier for me. She put a piece of tape on the edge that sticks out, then folded the tape over to make a little tab. Yes, it was THAT EASY. I played with it for at least 2 minutes, completely stunned that this magical solution has evaded me for so long.
