Things a new mom really needs.

For my first baby, I couldn’t wait to stock up on all baby. My daughter was surrounded by all kinds of gadgets and baby paraphernalia. Did it make her childhood any happier? Probably not, but it sure made life easier for me! By the time my second child was born five years later, we had passed on or sold most of our baby items and needed to start anew. I was shocked by how much things had changed in just five years! Luckily I remembered the things a new mom really needs. Two things I used daily were our carseat and breastpump.

Our carseat and stroller combo was so handy for our firstborn that we knew we needed one again. This time we chose a Chicco Keyfit carseat and were extremely pleased with that decision. The Keyfit carseat snapped right into its Chicco Keyfit coordinating base each and every time without a struggle. It also kept him secure up to 30 pounds! The seat allowed our baby to stay rear facing for a longer period, so we knew he had an extra measure of safety. I always wanted to be one of those cool moms who knows how to use a Moby baby wrap carrier but I couldn’t get the hang of it. I did finally figure out the secret of breastfeeding.

With my daughter, I never produced enough milk to keep her satisfied. With the help of herbs I was able to exclusively breastfeed my second child. Since I worked outside the home I had a hoard of Medela pumping equipment to sterilize each day. The Medela microsteam bags were inexpensive, reusable, and so convenient. If I hadn’t been able to use those sterilizing bags to keep my equipment clean, there’s no way I could have continued to breastfeed while he was at daycare. My baby days are over, but it’s still fun to find gift ideas for friends and family on PishPoshBaby.

Baby car seat would be top of my list. But also knowing hardly anyone ever looks at them and buys thing from them in our area, I would add a lot of frilly wants. I’d be FB status hinting a lot for the needed items. 🙂
