Enter the October Book giveaway for a chance to read The Hardest Peace by Kara Tippetts. savingsinseconds.com Kara Tippetts knows the ordinary days of mothering four kids, the joy of watching her children grow…and the devastating reality of stage-IV cancer.  One lucky winner will receive a copy of her book The Hardest Peace.

This book will move your heart in ways you never thought possible. Sometimes you’ll even wish you hadn’t read it.  Why?  Because once you start, you can’t help but be drawn into Tippetts’ heartwrenching life.  Without meaning to, you’ll be crying or laughing and looking for miracles.  Kara seems like the kind of girl you’d invite to go get manicures together; she’s the type of mom who might sit behind you at the football game.  Her energy seems incongruous with a desperate battle against a devastating diagnosis.  In her book, she invites readers to live with grace and recognize abundance.  Tippetts doesn’t shy away from the toughest issues (although my heart threatened to break when she talked about the tough stuff.)  She describes the humble grace of accepting help from others.  When she described her longing to participate in the normal activities of life, such as shuttling the kids to school or going to sporting events, I felt like a ginormous whiny brat.  How often do I complain about those tasks?  When do I stop to say thanks to God that I’m able to do those things?   Although my own medical problems aren’t as severe, I have my fears about the future.  It’s hard to lay those worries at the foot of the cross.  In Kara’s light, it’s becoming a bit easier to find my way.

About Kara: Kara Tippetts and her husband, Jason, have four children and are planting a church in Colorado Springs, CO. Cancer is only part of Kara’s story. Her real fight is to truly live while facing a crushing reality. She blogs faithfully at Mundane Faithfulness.
