The booster seat ate my chairs.

I’m beyond disgusted about the booster seat we used for my son.  It’s actually the same one we used for my daughter, but we had upgraded our furniture since having my son.  Our new dining room chairs are made of real wood, which was one improvement from the old ones.  Also, the new chairs have more of a grooved seat for comfort.  Yes, we were living the high life.  That is, until I strapped the booster seat good and tight for my son.  Oh, he enjoyed many meals on that booster seat.  Apparently so did the booster, because it ate my chairs.  See what I mean?

No amount of furniture polish is going to cover that up.  When ViveVita asked me to review their chair covers, I knew which chair the covers would first adorn.   There are several pretty color options available. I selected the sage green covers for my kitchen.

These covers seem to best fit on square seats.  Our chairs have a more rounded seat.  I smoothed out the seat and attached it through the sides of the chairs….here’s the final result:

IF

It’s not a perfect fit, but it’s definitely an improvement over the scratches!  If I could do it over again, I’d put this cover on BEFORE strapping on the booster seat.  With babies and their gear, being proactive is a must!    These chair covers are machine washable, which is a necessity for a family with kids.  Knowing that I don’t have to cry over spilled milk is one less thing to worry about.  Another thing I like is that these have velcro straps rather than ties.  You know how those ties can tear and pull away from the rest of the cover….not going to happen with these.  The covers fit over only the seat portion with a small bit of skirt around the bottom.  The beauty of the rest of the chair body still shows.  There’s no concern about needing to hem the bottoms, or fitting the cover over the top of the chair.  I also like that these are packaged in pairs so that you can easily customize your order to the number of chairs you need.  What an easy way to add a bit of color to the dining room without spending a bundle!

  5. That’s a good idea to cover the seat under the booster if there’s wood. I think ViveVita has the right idea.

I know all to well about chairs getting scratched up, I had to sand mine down and restained them all. These covers would have saved me so much time lol.

  8. i was worried about the the same problem with my child’s booster seat. i actually put a large beach towel on the whole chair long ways from top to bottom and that saved me! and twice a week all i had to do is shake it out and wash it and it was as good as new

  9. What an awesome way to repurpose a used item! It looks great!
