Which tempting offers catch you when shopping online?

These days, it takes a lot to get me to walk into a brick and mortar store.  I used to love browsing through a shop, touching items and trying on clothes.  Now that life is busy with kids, work, and keeping up with the house, shopping seems like more of a chore than a pastime.  Going online is much easier for me.  It’s better for my budget, too, because it’s easier to stick with the one or two items I intended to purchase rather than walk out with a whole Target cart full of dizzying impulse buys.  Sound familiar?  Some discounts are even better online.  Free shipping, cashback, and gift with purchase all make it worth my while to click “submit” rather than slide my debit card.  These tempting offers are my favorites….which ones catch your eye? Free shipping

Shipping costs can be a real dealbreaker for me.   Watching that online cart build up keeps a budgeted number front and center for me. Tacking on $12.95 right at the end makes me close a tab.  There are times when I’ll go ahead and buy, but most often it prompts me to pass up a bargain because the shipping outweighs the savings.  Free returns are also a bonus!  Love that no-risk shopping experience.  It’s nice to know that my purchase will be delivered right to my door; I don’t even have to carry it in from the garage.   This is especially good when the items are heavier.  For example, beginning on December 5th through December 8th, your readers can receive free shipping on everything at Create UR Plate! (This offer cannot be combined with any other offers.)  There’s always that chance that plates will break on my way home……having it delivered to my doorstep means I don’t have to worry about being clumsy.

Gift with Purchase

I usually pass up on these deals unless it’s something I would purchase anyway.  Gift with purchase can be nice, though, if you’re on the “One for you, one for me” plan.  Sometimes when I’m Christmas shopping I want to get a little something for myself, too, and the Gift With Purchase makes me feel less guilty.

Discount on Future Purchase

Along the same lines, the offer of a high-discount coupon to use on a future purchase appeals to me when I know I’ll use the coupon.  One example would be the Stella & Dot DOT DOLLARS SALE . Starting today you will earn $25 for every $50 you spend before December 15th! That savings will be waiting for me the next time I shop with Stella & Dot.  Since I’d be purchasing a gift anyway, it’s nice to get a little something back.  This is like the online version of Kohl’s Cash or GymBucks for me.  And I didn’t even have to put on shoes to get it!

Stackable Codes

I get seriously excited when I’m able to stack codes.  There are always so many good codes available and I have to choose which one is the best.  When sites let me stack the deals, it means the best of both worlds.  Last week I had some $20 off codes for Shutterfly that came in my email.  I was able to stack them with a free shipping code (also came through email) and get 50 Christmas cards (already discounted)  for less than $10 shipped.  It was awesome!  Offers like these make me return to a site again and again because the savings can’t be beat.

Free shipping grabs my daughter and I, too. We will often know it’s a good deal but just can’t break down and pay the shipping costs. Another one is 70% off or more. Many times you can find 50% right now so we want more. Even better when a percent off stacks with a shipping offer.

    • Definitely! I just ordered twice from Kohl’s — there was a 25% off the price PLUS free shipping PLUS Kohl’s Cash. So excited about the great deal!
