Summer is my favorite season because I get to enjoy 10 weeks off with my kids!  After the first week, though, our togetherness starts to make me a little weary.  It’s challenging to find activities that are engaging for the kids yet won’t break the bank.  Here are some ways we find summer fun for free!  [Read more…]

LOLL Wearable Towel makes a versatile swimsuit cover-up #giveaway ends 6/30 INT

Disclosure: I received this LOLL to try on. Opinions shared are mine.

The past two weeks have been a crazy whirlwind for our family. My husband had a scheduled surgery on Monday, but the complications sent him back to the hospital TWICE after the initial discharge. We’ve spent 8 out of the past 10 days in the hospital. Now that we’re home and he’s doing a bit better, I’m hoping that I can take the kids on a much-deserved trip to the pool. I’ll definitely be wearing my LOLL. This versatile swimsuit cover-up doubles as a towel.

School supplies have always made my heart skip a beat. Some of you know exactly what I mean!  You’ll be happy to know that Pilot acknowledges this obsession with their amazing pens, and they’ve partnered with Target to create the G2 Overachievers Club.  So then, Pilot sent me these G2 pens.  People, I was happier than a bird with a french fry.  The thing is, my kids are just as enamored by pens as I am (maybe more….dare I say it?)  Naturally, those pens were whisked right out of my grasp. Most of us know a person who is always right.  For you, it might be a family member or friend.  My person is my grandmother.  Though we weren’t really close until I was a teenager, she became almost like a mother to me.  Even now, we stay in close contact despite the hundreds of miles that separate us.  Every month, I send her a box filled with the books I reviewed. She loves to read, and then she shares the books with her church friends.  I’m so blessed to know this amazing, wise woman. [Read more…]

I used to love to write encouraging cards and notes for people.  Over the years, it seemed obsolete, and I gradually stopped doing that.  Last night, one of our small group members commented that encouragement really means a lot to him.  It occurred to me that maybe God wants me to encourage others!  I love the song “I Wanna Live Like That” and it reminds me to be love.  That’s why I really like the Craving Connection (in)courage line from DaySpring. Share grace and encouragement with the message of connection!  [Read more…]
