Our family has been blessed to travel to Disney World several times.  Snacks at Disney World are part of the fun. Alas, when we are Disney I rarely think about taking pictures of the food. I’m so busy eating it!   Thankfully, I found a way to avoid packing our snacks for Disney World.   [Read more…]

We Love Disney album review #WeLoveDisney #O2O

Disclosure: I participated in the We Love Disney album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.

Our family just returned from a Disney vacation. We have visited several times before, but each experience has its own special magic. This was our first family trip in several years; my husband wasn’t able to come with us on the last adventure. One of my favorite parts of being at Disney World is the bright, happy music that plays wherever you go. It’s truly everywhere! On the bus, in the waiting areas, and throughout the parks, you can hear wonderful Disney soundtracks. We find ourselves singing these tunes in our hotel room, too. Once we returned home, it was hard to believe that we’d just spent those wonderful days in The Happiest Place on Earth. An easy way to bring home the magic? Listening to the new We Love Disney album! Making Disney World dining reservations

Disney dining woes -

For many people, going on a Disney World trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Parents scrimp and save to make the dream a reality, then spend hours on the planning process to make it perfect.  In the past few years, the online dining reservation site has become super popular.  For those hard-to-get restaurants, such as Be Our Guest and ‘Ohana, you’ve got to do your homework to make sure your family will have a table.  You can’t count on walking up and getting in the door. Paired with free dining promotions, and it’s really tough to grab those reservations early.

So what to do? Here are some options! [Read more…]

Fun Disney freebie that kids get into! #Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Maleficent is at it again!

On our last trip to Disney, my kids discovered the very cool Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card game.  Have you heard of this?  It’s totally free to play and actually quite entertaining.  To participate, head to Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. or behind the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square and get your card pack. Planning Your Disney Trip Makes It MORE Relaxing

Planning your Disney trip -- start here.

You might not have realized that there are different types of vacations.  At least, I didn’t know this until I went to Disney.  Sure, you might check out TripAdvisor for some restaurant or hotel suggestions before you head to the beach.  You might even browse some apps to find local entertainment options.  Most people, though, don’t spend a lot of time planning the actual days of their trip.  If you’re headed to Disney *especially if it’s your first trip* let me implore you to take the time to plan.  Disney definitely has a learning curve; ask anyone who has been there and they’re likely to give you a bazillion tips and hints.  It really can be overwhelming.  Our family had a downright awful, exhausting first trip.  Yet we persevered and have visited several times since.  Each trip gets better than the last!  Let me share our mistakes and successes with you.

Even if we’ve just returned from a 10-day trip, I’ve always got Disney on the brain.   It comes up in conversation all the time in our house, whether we’re looking at photos or remembering a funny thing that happened on our last trip.  My son learned to walk on his first Disney trip.  My daughter got to sing with Ariel, her favorite mermaid of all time.  Those special memories are tucked away in my heart, waiting for new ones to be made.  Today let’s talk about the kind of clothes you’re going to pack for your trip. Disney planning – time savers and dream builders

I never thought we would be “that family.” We are practical, frugal, and homebodies. Our children think taking a picnic to the park is a big deal. So why are we going to Disney yet again? Here’s why. To us, Disney celebrates childhood. The fantasy of a fairyland is real in that magical place. The cast members go out of their way to make our children feel special every time they walk in the room. Everything is beautiful and we never see the little elves at work making it so. Our kids love every minute of the vacation and we love every smile they flash for us. [Read more…]

Disney on my mind

Disney on my mind -

I’ve got Disney on my mind — again.  Even though it’s been just a few short months since our last trip, my kids have been asking when we’ll go again.  There are so many things I love about Disney World. It’s one of the easiest vacation spots I’ve been, especially when it comes to finding things to do.  We stay on property so that we can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. My kids are up at the crack of dawn anyway; might as well ride some attractions!   The downside is that Disney isn’t really the place for a spontaneous vacation.  For the first couple of trips we took, we spent months of planning, reserving, and researching to get to do everything we wanted to do.  It was totally worth every moment though!

If you’re a first timer, here are a few things to consider. [Read more…]
