I’m Not a Scaredy Cat, The Delusion, and Killman Creek mini book reviews

Disclosure: I received books for review; post contains affiliate links. Opinions shared are mine.

My husband and I have been binge-watching The Great British Baking Show lately, so my reading time is constantly interrupted by images of sweet treats.  We really need to find a new show that burns more calories. Thankfully, the books I’ve been reading lately are fat-free.

It’s always fun to find a new author, and Hope Toler Dougherty is like the pot at the end of the rainbow! In her book Rescued Hearts, she builds a strong case for the saying, “A good deed never goes unpunished.”  What started with a kitten’s rescue turns out to be a lot more sinister. [Read more…]

Bringing Maggie Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Disclosure: I received this book as part of the blog tour. Opinions shared are mine.
Family responsibilities and obligations can weigh heavy on a young heart.  From a young age, Hazel Mae bore the emotional burden of caring for her younger sister….the one who went missing on Hazel’s watch.  As an older sister, I totally understand that feeling of care-giving for a younger sibling, and for feeling responsible when something went wrong.  Bringing Maggie Home brings back all of those panic-inducing emotions.  No matter where you fit in the whole scheme of family relationships, there is someone in this book who will remind you of a person you know.

Many Sparrows by Lori Benton book review

Disclosure: I received this book free from Litfuse. Post contains affiliate links; opinions shared are mine.

His eye is on the sparrow…and I know he watches me.  ~Civilla D. Martin
