It’s the time of year when we all take a deep breath…and some of us don’t release the breath until after Christmas.  Do you know the feeling?  One situation that tends to get me in a tizzy is menu planning – especially when I have to take meals and finger foods to all the places.  Sunday Suppers is my new go-to book for delicious Southern recipes that don’t take the entire day to prepare. This cookbook is perfect for the foodie on your Christmas wishlist.  It contains beautiful food photography.  If eating with your eyes isn’t enough, check out the recipe variety.  Most of the recipes contain “regular” ingredients that you can easily find at your local grocery store.  Use specialty ingredients to make the meal a stand-out, or choose traditional products for a more basic approach.  I appreciated the suggestions that are found in the margins and captions.  Believe it or not, I read cookbooks like this cover-to-cover.  My kids usually read over my shoulder and make their requests!

The recipes in Sunday Suppers can be easily doubled to serve a crowd.  Also, suggested side dishes are mentioned to create helpful pairings.  That’s so relevant during the holiday season, when we could be feeding 5 or 25 people at any given meal.  You might also want to make some of these recipes as gifts.  Who wouldn’t love a pretty pan of Caramel Mocha Sea Salt Cupcakes, or a basket filled with Hearty Italian Soup ingredients?   You’ll soon have sticky notes and dogeared pages decorating this cookbook.  Gather your loved ones around for Sunday Suppers.

Many thanks to the publisher for sending me this book.
