Some cats run at the sound of commotion, but our Blooper knows how to work a room.  He wanders from guest to guest, trying to look cute so someone will pet him.  If you try to ignore him, he’ll sit on your feet and purr, or just jump on your lap.  When I set out The Southern Living Party Cookbook, he insisted on being part of the action.

Beautiful to behold, this book is just what you’d expect from Southern Living.  Your friends will be so delighted when you invite them over to sample the recipes you prepare!  I love the way the cookbook is laid out with recipes, gorgeous full-color photos, and interesting nuggets of information.  Funny thing, she doesn’t mention how to keep your cat out of the cookbook.

With this cookbook by your side, you won’t have to scour instagram or Pinterest.  There’s no need to wish upon a star for a party-planning friend to offer her services.  Author Elizabeth Heiskell’s got your back.  From appetizers to cocktails to decor, you’ve got options galore.  I especially loved the tips on party favors and food quantity estimates.  Those are areas I struggle to balance!

Somehow, Heiskell makes the entire party production seem effortless and lovely.  Instead of focusing on perfection and high-brow expenditures, she emphasizes the thought and purpose behind each action.  The book encourages readers to enjoy the moment, rather than show off a grandiose display.  It’s a perfect way to start the new year for all you cool cats!

One lucky Savings in Seconds reader will win a copy of the Southern Living Party Cookbook!  The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law.   Enter on the form below. Good luck!
