Welcome to the [2nd Annual] Showered With Love Giveaway Hop! This event is hosted by the Blogging Mamas Network.  The bloggers in this event are excited to bring you the gifts we would like to see at a baby shower — from the soft and cuddly to the practical and necessary.  So enjoy this virtual Baby Shower! The Showered with Love Event will run from April 1-15; don’t miss out on all of the great giveaways in the linky below.  And you definitely want to enter the  Grand Prize of a Combi Catalyst Travel System!  So Easy Being Green, Viva Veltoro, the Blogging Mamas Network, and the Showered with Love participating bloggers are not responsible for sponsors who do not fulfill prize obligations.

Our sponsor for this event is Tanglewood Press with the release of Miss You Like Crazy.  I loved getting books at my baby showers (my kids still read those books!) and really enjoy giving them to new babies as well.  Reading with your new baby is such an important experience!

When my babies were born, I really struggled with being a working mom.  My daughter was in daycare for less than a week before I threatened to quit my job and stay home, because I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving her with people I didn’t know.  One of my dear friends saved us by offering to babysit her.  She did eventually go to daycare when she was 2 years old (more for socialization than anything) and the time was right by then.  When my son was born 5 years later, the daycare staff had been with us through so much that I knew they would care for him like their own.  Still, it was hard to leave my infant in the hands of others every day.  My children never knew any different, but it was a tough process.  If you’re struggling with the idea of leaving your little one while you go to work, Miss You Like Crazy is a book that you’ll hold dear.

On behalf of Tanglewood Press, one lucky reader will receive a prize package inspired by little Walnut and his hard-working mom.  The giveaway consists of one copy of MIss You Like Crazy, a 5 x 7 “Me and Mommy” frame (perfect for displaying at work!) and a keychain photo holder just right for attaching onto a little one’s backpack (ARV $35). The giveaway is open to US only please; ages 18+ and void where prohibited by law.  To enter, visit the Rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!

It’s good that she takes time to comfort in the story. It’s important to remind your child how much you love them and that you will return.

  2. I would comfort my grandsons by telling them that Mommy will be back soon and that we can do fun things in the meantime. Distraction is the best cure!

  3. I am so fortunate to not have to worry about this. I worked in a daycare many years ago and distraction worked best. Breaks my heart though!

I think Walnut is a cute name and kids will like it.

I like that she talked with him. It’s important to talk with kids about what you will be doing during the day and what they will be doing, too.

Make sure when you return home you ask the child what they did. Get excited over the things they did. Tell them that tomorrow when you go to work they will do more fun things but will have to tell you all about them.

  7. My niece has to work full time and her children are in day care. They love it there as they are always learning something or working on project to take home to mom. When they get home they always talk about all the things they did there. I guess that is relieving for my niece too, as she knows they are safe and being taken care of, and that they are happy 🙂

I think that this is a great book idea. The issue is important and relevant. Plus, it gets kids ready for when they will go off to school for the day.

I think comforting a child is the best thing to do, and I love how this portrays that
