It’s homework time. Can your kids find a sharp pencil?
I should get enough of the graphite-gobbling wooden sticks at school, where my students easily run through a gross of pencils per grading period. For some reason, though, I’ve never outgrown my love of a freshly sharpened pencil. So when Classroom Friendly Supplies claimed to have the quietest pencil sharpener, I was all in.
Traditional bookshelf-mounted sharpeners weren’t practical for my classroom arrangement. I’ve purchased dozens of handheld sharpeners; they’re almost immediately lost, hijacked, or dismantled by my students. Plus, the Oops-I-dropped-the-pencil-shavings moments got old pretty fast. Heavy duty electric sharpeners cost around $75 and just wouldn’t last through the year. Color me disheartened.

Although you CAN mount these sharpeners to furniture, I prefer to leave them freestanding. Keeping them portable makes it easier to share at a table. At home, my kids take the sharpener to the kitchen table, desk, or wherever their homework is being completed that night.
I shudder to think how many electric sharpeners still sit in landfills because of my classroom. One of the best features of the Classroom Friendly Sharpener is the fact that parts can be replaced. The handles, blades, and shavings trays can be purchased separately. That’s such a savings! It’s also earth-friendly; no outlets needed for this beauty. Don’t you love the retro look? I am so excited about this giveaway. Love all the colors of the sharpener…but mostly I love that it’s those classroom sharpeners that really work and which I can’t loose (ok…I can loose a lot but this would be harder to loose).
They have a lot of sharpeners! The laser pointer would be nice to have.
I love the laser pointer but I was impressed but the array of colors availability of sharpeners and pieces to fix them if broken is great.
