We are a family of diverse tastes. My husband could live on salad, while my daughter would enjoy eating pizza every meal. My son loves popcorn shrimp any day of the week, but I prefer baked fish. It’s difficult to find a restaurant that offers something for all of us. That’s why every once in a while, we take a road trip to the Ryan’s in Greeneville, Tennessee. When they invited us to try their Seafood Friday, we were all aboard! At Ryan’s, my son and I can enjoy our seafood favorites while my husband and daughter can partake of other delicious entrees. Through April 3, 2015, you can find Seafood Fridays at Ryan’s, HomeTown Buffet, and Old Country Buffet . This is the perfect meal idea for those who are honoring Lent! Even if there’s not a beach trip planned for your spring break, you can enjoy a delicious shrimp dinner at one of these restaurants.
At the Greeneville Ryan’s, we saw several seafood dishes on the hot bar. The various options included popcorn shrimp, fried catfish, and baked fish. There are assorted meals offered depending on which restaurant you visit. You might also see Atlantic salmon, Butterfly shrimp, or Garlic and Italian Herb fish. My happy crew immediately loaded up with old favorites, as well as trying a few new items. As you can see, there was plenty for everyone!
While we were eating our meal, I noticed a beautiful table set off to the side. Upon closer examination, I saw that the table was set for The Missing Man. It was dedicated to POW/MIA soldiers, making sure they are not forgotten. It was a beautiful and poignant reminder of those who served our country and preserved our freedom. One of the Ryan’s servers noticed that I was taking photos of the table, and asked if I’d seen the Veteran’s Room. I wandered to the other side of the restaurant and was struck by the amazing tribute that the Greeneville Ryan’s set up for veteran and active duty soldiers. I’ll be featuring that room in a separate post — it deserves its own attention! The proud recognition of our armed forces is one great reason to support Ryan’s.
The Greeneville Ryan’s also had a fun raffle going on. There was a table set up at the entrance with two big Easter baskets. Wouldn’t it be fun to win one? My kids eagerly entered and told me which of the prizes they wanted!

My husband loves seafood. We’ve never tried Ryan’s seafood buffet, we will now.
That looks like a great place to eat. I’m a huge fan of buffets. So is my husband. I usually have to drag him out of the restaurant, because he wants to “get what he paid for”.

Buffets are the best. You can pick from all kinds of stuff, and you can eat as much as you want! Yum!
I’ve driven past Ryan’s Buffet before and had no idea what was inside. I mean, obviously a buffet, but didn’t know that it was so nice. I’d love to visit now.

Thanks for the review I have always liked Ryan’s but I think I would have started to cry over the Missing Man’s place. It is so sweet to do that. When my brother was in the service we always kept his place too.

I have never been to ryans but it is like kings table used to be and golden corral.
I love Ryan’s steak and seafood house. they have such a variety of great tasting food. the people and service are great too.
Have to look up exactly where the place is. Haven’t been there yet but know there’s one in Denver.

My husband loves that he can get good fried chicken. It’s hard to find places that serve true homestyle fried chicken.

i love any company who supports our troops/veterans even more. i love the idea behind buffetts and i have always thought this company has one of the best ones and always pleases everyone in my family.
I would not visit for Seafood Friday since we don’t eat seafood at all. I like other Ryan’s food especially the salad bar.
I have eaten at this restaurant before and it has such great food! You have a lot of choices of food and sides too. I am so impressed that they are honoring our military. My Dad was a veteran of the Vietnam war and I was so proud of him!

Don’t forget the dessert area…ice cream, and cakes, pies, and cookies. Plus, don’t forget the sprinkles! Options and sugar overload but lots of fun.

WE love Ryan’s. It is such a great place to eat. The people are friendly, the food is delicious, they have such a great variety and it always feels welcoming.

I love Hometown Buffet, I just wish it was closer to me. It’s about 45 minutes on the freeway away.

I love to go there with the kids for the same reasons you mentioned. Everyone can find something that they love. My oldest always goes for the taco bar first! They all end up at the desert station though!

Ours is Hometown Buffet. We usually go for lunch although I like their breakfasts on the weekend. Everyone is able to get the things that they like and the prices are reasonable.

I am looking forward to seafood Fridays this year at Old Country Buffet. There is one only a few miles away, so it is very convenient.
I don’t have to travel that far to go to the Country Buffet, but I’ve never been there.
Too bad the closest one to me closed!! 🙁
