Taking SAM to Dollywood — packing the essentials

Thanks to Poise for sponsoring today’s discussion. The opinions shared here are 100% mine.

Tonight I’m packing for our trip to Dollywood. It’s going to be a fun day in the sunshine, riding roller coasters and eating corn dogs. My daughter always wants to go on Thunderhead — it’s a big wooden coaster that rattles me until my teeth hurt. Scary!!  I’m glad that SAM is going along with me.

Here’s my bag so far.  I want you to take a QUICK glance at it, no more than 3 seconds. Then scroll down. Ready? Go!

Now, after a long day at the amusement park, which of these items would you most wish you had?

  • Water bottle
  • Beach towel
  • Poise® Microliners
  • sandals/flip flops
  • sunscreen

All of these items are nice to have, but the truth is that I can find 4 out of these 5 items at Dollywood.  If I get soaked on a water ride or need a bit more sun protection, I can find what I need at the gift shop.  However, if LBL (light bladder leakage) decides to hit while I’m walking for 5+ hours in the heat, it’s going to be a bit more uncomfortable.  I’m not sure that I could buy new undies at Dollywood.  Even if I could, it wouldn’t be fun to explain to my children that “Mommy needs to go to the gift shop because she had an accident on Thunderhead. ”  That’s why my friend SAM (Super Absorbent Material) is going along with me.  You might not have noticed these little purple packets first but they’re the first to go in my sackpack!

You didn’t notice SAM waiting to go in my bag because it’s so thin and small!!  They’re super lightweight so that I don’t even notice when I’m wearing them. I sure do notice when I’m not, though!!   When selecting my Microliners, I chose the long option.  Just wanted to have all my bases covered, if you know what I mean.  With Poise Microliners, it’s all good.  Life’s little leaks won’t get me down!

I was impressed that the box contained at least 50 of these Microliners.  In the depths of my coupon book, there was even a $2 coupon for Poise waiting to be redeemed.  My total came to less than $5.  In preparation for a day at the amusement park, I was quick to head to the register. This is a small price to pay for comfort!!

Do you experience light bladder leakage?  Do you have a friend who would want to be introduced to SAM?  Poise is the light bladder leakage solution.  Request a free sample for an extra light dose of LBL confidence!    You might think that it’s an embarrassing topic to discuss, but rest assured knowing that approximately 1 in 3 women can relate.   I thought that having C-sections instead of vaginal births would keep me out of this club, but nope.  No escape.  Well played, gravity. At least I have Poise on my side!

  2. I think I will pick up a box of these next time I am in CVS–the way I am drinking water this summer I think I just may need them!

  3. Robin (Masshole Mommy) says

I have wanted to go to Dollywood for a long time now. It’s one of those places on my bucketlist!

  4. Oh yes you are like me, I “piddle” on roller coasters too! These pads are a must have!

  5. I had no idea Dollywood had rides. I have no idea what I thought was there but now I want to go!

  6. I may need something thicker than poise for that ride lol

  7. This is such a problem for women, especially those who have had children! It is great there is a product available to help!

  8. The Poise micro liners are so thin it’s like wearing nothing, which is good!

  9. This pregnancy I am experiencing some LBL, especially lifting my toddler so much! I love the Poise liners!

  10. My baby is 3 months old, and I’m still experiencing some LBL, so this is helpful. Thanks!

  11. Must packs is right, I’d probably have some leakage on that roller coaster!! lol

  12. We love Dollywood when we visit our family in TN. I also love how discreet and small those liners are.

  13. I don’t know if I could face that roller coaster. I can definitely see where could use some protection, just in case. Thanks Poise.

  14. I needed these after my baby too, and I love how thin and discrete they are.

  15. LBL is such a problem, especially for people who have had multiple kids. I like that these microliners are so thin!

  16. SAM is always in my bag too!! Super important!

  17. Rebecca Swenor says

It sounds like a great time but I wouldn’t get on that ride. I always carry these with me in my purse. Thanks for sharing.

  18. I would most certainly love to visit Dollywood too. I would however need some SAM!!

  19. SAM is amazing. He’s the man! He’s definitely good to have around when riding that ginormous roller coaster. Yeesh!

  20. A roller coaster like Thunderhead definitely requires SAM to come along. Between the force of the coaster, the speed, and the jerkiness… well, a microliner is a must.

  21. I’d love to visit Dollywood. I’ve heard it’s beautiful there, and Thunderhead is supposed to be great! If I ever get there, I’ll definitely be taking SAM along with me!

  22. Ann Bacciaglia says

I would not be able to go on that roller coaster. I am so afraid of them!!

  23. I’d need more
Than a microliner to get on that coaster!! Lol

  24. I got these and was completely shocked at how thin they really are!

  25. From the looks of that ride, the Poise wouldn’t be in my purse. It would be in full alert mode.

  26. Bekah Kuczenski says

After having 2 babies I do have occasional bladder leakage 🙁 I would love to try the SAN in these pantiliners!

  27. I agree!! Scare it right out of me as well!

  28. Amber Louise Edwards says

I have wanted to take the kids here for a long time!

  29. Sherry Compton says

Very honest and real. Thanks. Pads can be bulky, bothersome, and uncomfortable. Bringing extras can be annoying and embarrassing. I like that these are comfortable and packaged well for travel

  30. I want to go roller coaster riding! My doctor will not let me because I have eye issues and it could be dangerous. 🙁

  31. I have always wondered what in the world Dollywood was! Maybe a place where a bunch of Dolly Part on impersonators wander around..? It’s an amusement park!? Huh! Go figure! Have fun!

  32. It’s really nice that when you travel you can feel fresh all day long. It’s nice that there’s products like these.

  33. jenn huey says

I think liner are essential anytime you are leaving the house. I always have them packed in my purse and keep a hand full in the car
