Have an animal lover on your Mother’s Day list? You definitely need to check out The Cat That God Sent and The Dog That Talked to God.   I signed up for this book tour because I knew that these would be sweet books.  I mean, how can they be anything else, just look at those covers!  Personally I believe that God sends angels to us in our times of need.  Why couldn’t those angels come in the form of precious animals?  If you have a pet in your life, chances are that the pet is more like a member of the family than an animal.  In our case, we have a little white mini schnauzer who brings smiles to all of us.  My kids have grown up with her. She’s full of energy and happiness all the time.  She’s a blessing to our family.  The Dog That Talked To God reminded me of her because she reminds me to take the time to settle down. Sometimes nothing is as important as a good rub behind the ears.  In this case, it came in the form of these two books.

Both stories have heartwarming messages and they’re not just for animal lovers.  They have some cute, funny moments but also some pages that will bring tears to your eyes.  In The Dog That Talked To God  it’s easy to see why people say that dogs are man’s best friend.  Who else shows unconditional love, genuine exuberance when you get home from work, and wants to be with you every minute of the day?  The Cat That God Sent can also be seen as a metaphor of life.  How can we know that God sends us signs or is trying to reach us?  I’m not talking about superstitions; I mean paying attention to what God is trying to tell us.  It’s a bit of a stretch to think that God would send a cat to be his messenger, but I put nothing past God when it comes to loving his children.  If he does so through a cat, well, He’s got a plan in mind.  This pair of books were gentle reminders that God and his timing are perfect.

I received these books to review. The opinions stated here are 100% mine.
