Never say never.
When I celebrated my 40th birthday last week, my great-grandmother’s words rang in my ears. I thought about how different my life turned out, compared to what I expected. I’d always said, “I’ll never have kids. I’ll never be overweight. I’ll never….” She clucked at me, in all her wisdom, and told me not to test God by saying what I’d never do. One thing I never thought I’d have a problem with? Light bladder leakage! There’s nothing better than having my children, and so I’ll take them with the LBL, thank you very much. Still, it’s hard to be excited about participating in all of their fun activities when it might result in an embarrassing situation later. Does any of this sound familiar to you? If so, picking up a pack of Depend Silhouette Active Fit could make everything a little easier for you! Never underestimate the comfort of a clean pair!

Perhaps when I was in my 20’s, or even 30’s, I would have jumped at the chance to get on a trampoline with my kids.
Never miss out on life's fun moments. #ad #vn #underwareness These days, squatting down to tie my shoes could give me a little surprise. On occasion, it’s necessary to pack emergency clothes for myself, too. This isn’t something I have to wear every day, but on the days when it’s there – it’s a lifesaver. You never know how life might surprise you. Don’t let yourself miss out on the amazing moments because of the slightly icky ones! The Active Fit product is thin; it’s designed for moderate LBL issues.

It’s estimated that 1 in 3 American women suffer from LBL. While I was out shopping today, I noticed several women stopping to pick up the items they needed. Don’t be embarrassed to get the items you need to keep your active lifestyle! Perhaps, though, I should be a little embarrassed for making a video in the middle of the store. Hmmmm….that’s okay. I want women to know that they shouldn’t be worried about what kind of underwear they wear. Instead, they need to know how to keep it feeling clean! That’s why Depend launched the #underwareness campaign, which helps to fund research and education about LBL. If you’re still not sure about Depend, request a free sample. Give it a try. You never know how much it might help you! I never realized that turning 40, celebrating this wonderful life with my family and friends, would be such an amazing feeling. I’m grateful for products that help to keep it that way.

  1. So there is another solution beside my mom’s trick of crossing your legs every time you sneeze (while standing, of course)? LOL! That’s good to know! Thanks for sharing. PS- Mom’s trick never really worked for me anyway!

  2. Sounds like a good product.
You also made a slight pun 😛 “jump at the chance to get on a trampoline” … :).

  3. No jumping for me. Sneezing can be an issue too!

I am so happy you talk about this. My daughter is grown but is very embarrassed from all her issues. She has been having this since getting very sick when she was 30. She feels like she is too young for this and ashamed of the whole situation. It happens to a lot of people, and I am just glad awareness and companies are working to help. Hug your kids and be proud of yourself.

  5. It’s such a common problem. If I cough or sneeze too hard, there it goes! Most of my mom friend experience this too! Thanks for getting this out there!

  6. I’m all about the free sample here. Let me tell you that pregnancy is not kind to my body. Eek!

  7. I’m here to say that people shouldn’t be embarrassed about it. It is just a part of getting older!

Gah!! Now Im never turning 40 lol!! So sad!! Thankfully products are there to help us!!

  9. In my late 20’s I wasn’t able to jump on the trampoline without having quite the shock. Those darn kids ruin your bladder! haha

  10. Did Tae Kwon Do for a couple of years…that was rough with all the jumping and kicking!

  11. Laughing (a lot) has always been my bladder’s nemesis. 😉

  12. Thankfully I don’t have this issue, but it’s good to know there’s some great options if it ever is an issue.

  13. Thanks for being unashamed to talk about this REAL issue that so many women have. Your suggestions to deal with it are very helpful. The free sample is great too.

  14. I had to chuckle reading this. I remember a friend of mine telling me years ago that she struggled with her bladder leaking when she worked out. I thought, huh, I have 3 kids and I don;t have a problem. Fast forward 3 kids later and I feel her pain! Like you, the trampoline can cause problems for me as well. I have to make sure I use the restroom immediately before working out or jumping with my kids. And even then, it’s still not always enough. Thanks for sharing! Signing up for my sample now.

  15. It really is wonderful that Depend provides so many products to help with an issue that impacts a large percentage of the population. Good for you for helping to de-stigmatize it.

It’s hard when you can’t do what you want, especially when it comes to “normal” everyday activities. Whether trying to “jump” at getting on a trampoline, sitting through a movie, or sneezing, you don’t want to have to worry about leaking. A good and useful product.

  17. Alison Gibb says

I understand!! I miss the days of watching a comedy without “preparing” for it!

  18. I think your grandmother was spot on. You should never say never. I never thought that my life would have turned out the way it has. I am not complaining, but just saying…

  19. I have noticed that there are more and more women stopping by the undergarments section of the grocery store. I never realized just how common LBL really was.

  20. Deborah W. says

We never know when we might need an item like this. Bladder leakage is pretty common especially among women who have had multiple babies. If I ever do need it I’m glad there are people who understand and make quality products like Depends.

  21. Debbie Welchert says

Boy how true a lot of the things you said are. I can remember bringing an extra change of clothes for my daughter when she was little, now I have to bring a change of clothes for myself.

  22. Angela Saver says

Yes, sneezing is definitely an issue. I’m glad it is being talked about, so that we all realize it part of l life!

  23. you now the kid will dare you at any thing once you get older they will have you trying a lot next time might be gliding or the swing across the sky

  24. My mom uses those and like them. 🙂

  25. Marnie G (Derrick Todd) says

Great info. Also, it is really nice to see that people are talking about this and other things more freely. My mom never spoke about any “health” issue — no matter what it was because she was raised that these things are “private”.

  26. It’s a real big problem, and I thank the Lord I don’;t have to worry just for today.

  27. Tamra Phelps says

Lol, try being a diabetic who pretty much ALWAYS has to go! Yep, a sneeze or cough could be dangerous!

  28. Man, I’m not even 30 with zero kids and I’m starting to suffer whenever I sneeze or cough. Gotta start those kegels now! :/

  29. Nobody ever expects to lose bladder control- glad they’re finally coming out with better alternatives than before!

  30. This is a very bad problem to have if you have it, my heart empathizes for them.

  31. I’m glad this subject is being talked about openly so women are not ashamed. After 4 children and being 60 I have a slight degree of this.

  32. I’m glad I don’t have this problem. Good luck to those who do.
