We love the trailers for THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING and it’s almost time for the movie to release!   This modern twist on the Sword in the Stone legend will transport families on an epic adventure in theaters starting  Friday, January 25th!

So many things speak to me about this story.  First, it’s sure to get kids fired up about the King Arthur legend.  I’m hoping this movie will inspire a new wave of readers crave stories about the middle ages.

Next, the previews show a deep bond between Alex and his friends.  Alex seems like an absolutely charming boy, and I love that he kissed his mom on the cheek in this trailer!  It appears that even the bullies fall into the quest, too, which is perfect.  I can’t deny that the Harry Potter references make me a giddy fangirl.

Finally, there seems to be a really positive message in The Kid Who WouldBe King.  In the words of the great Albus Dumbledore, “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”  That’s a mantra worth repeating, and I’m glad that this movie makes it a bold statement.

One lucky Savings in Seconds reader will win a movie-themed backpack and Guide for Young Knights book!  The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Enter on the form below. Good luck!
