Inspirational Nursery Rhymes offer parent resources for building positive beliefs

Disclosure: I’ll be receiving this book; opinions shared are mine.

A few weeks ago, I struggled with the memory of E vs. A — as in, Berenstein vs. Berenstain.  If you’re familiar with the Mandela effect, you know what I’m talking about!  The bigger picture, though, forces me to acknowledge that the Bears in question simply portrayed human situations in the comfort of Mama Bear’s world.  Now that I’m a Mama Bear myself, it’s important to find ways to help my cubs build a positive belief system.  Recently, I was invited to share the Inspiration Nursery Rhymes including the newest title Max Gives Thanks to God.

This series has endearing characters and lighthearted rhymes, as you’d expect. The illustrations remind me of the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie books. What I found most interesting was the science behind the books.  Based on research about brain development and genetics, the books are meant to establish positive self-image thoughts from a very early age.  It’s frightening to think that the window for behavior closes at around age 6 or 7…..my son is 7 years old!

In recent public school news, the state of TN is working toward interventions for behavior.  Just as RTI is available for reading and math, student behavior and emotional well-being is going to be targeted.  I hope that parents will take this burden upon their own shoulders by reading positive books like the Inspirational Nursery Rhymes! Just imagine how that could benefit children, families, schools, and communities.

Note: When previewing this book, I noticed a stray apostrophe that didn’t belong.  Things like that usually get filtered out with future edits, so don’t let it prevent you from enjoying the book.

  1. Rhymes are good for remembering things. Looks like a good book.

  2. Sherry Compton says

This book looks really cute. I like the idea and science, too. We need to get involved early…both with inspiring and with parents being the one to work towards this and bond.

  3. We started reading with both of our boys at a very young age and found that books like this really made an impact not only on their school work but their behavior as well. Seems odd that the window is around 7, but then again kids that age are like sponges when it comes to information!
