I love having a variety of Bible storybooks all around the house. Just like novels and magazines, there are different moods that we satisfy with each type of storybook. My kids like to read action stories sometimes, and comforting stories at other moments. The new Bible storybook from Tommy Nelson, I Will Follow Jesus, has a great blend of charming artwork, kid-friendly language, and high-interest story pages.
My son is a beginning reader who is fiercely independent. He avoids “baby books” like the plague, and won’t even open the cover if he thinks a book is too young for him. This storybook was ideal because it isn’t a board book, yet the readability is quite within my 1st-grader’s vocabulary. Abundant imagery make the stories come to life, and the illustrations provide an excellent backdrop for each scriptural message. Since my little boy is starting to consider what it means to follow Jesus, this storybook is even more important to our home. I Will Follow Jesus will have a favorite spot on our shelf for years to come.
