Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions shared are mine.

Mamas have so many dreams for their children.  Happiness in school, marriage, career….they’re all in my prayers for my kids.  The biggest desire of my heart, though, is the hope that my babies will love Jesus with all their might.   My prayer is to be able to show and teach them that single thing.  To hear my sweet children say, ” I believe in Jesus.”  My response? Oh, the places you’ll go.

I Believe in Jesus

For parents who want to start with the bare essentials as they teach about Jesus, this book is a good option.  On the left side of the page, the story is summarized in a short, basic paragraph.  On the right side, a memory verse or two is listed.  Finally, a corresponding cross-reference is added.   These details make the story a natural connection to the Bible.

I like the brief nature of this book because it makes it simple to read with small kids.  It’s not necessary to have an excessively long attention span when the story takes seconds to read.  You don’t have to read this book cover to cover.  On the other hand, the stories are almost too simplified.  I understand why this is; after all, it’s difficult to explain Eve’s situation without going into some sort of theology.  The book is targeted for ages 4-8. The illustrations make it perfect for kids on the younger end of that range; however, the reading is more difficult than most will be able to read at age 4.

How have you shared the gospel in an easy-to-understand way with your kids in the past?

One US reader will win a copy of I Believe in Jesus in the Oh, The Places You’ll Go hop. The giveaway is open to ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
