I’ve teamed up with a great group of bloggers that want to  help you feel at home for the holidays. The Home for the Holidays Giveaways are all centered around the perfect products for your home.  From decorative gifts to appliances each blogger has something for your home!   Hop around to each giveaway and be sure to enter to win the Grand Prize for this event too!  The hosts have secured a wonderful prize package worth $1,000 to include a Sebo X4 Upright Vacuum from from Allergy Buyers Club, a 5×8 Mohawk Rug {of Winner’s Choice}, and a $75 Gift Certificate to WallsNeedLove.com.   So Easy Being Green, Viva Veltoro, the Blogging Mamas Network, and the Home for the Holidays participating bloggers are not responsible for sponsors who do not fulfill prize obligations.

Upside Down Games offers high-quality educational games that pair lifestyle choices with challenging board game style.  Perfect for the family to enjoy together, their YOGA! line is motivating and engaging for kids.  If the weather outside is frightful, stay in and play some yoga together.  The games encourage reading skills, active play, and just plain fun.  We reviewed three of these games and my kids enjoyed them very much.  If you’re going to be Home for the Holidays, why not have a family game night?  The Magic Path of Yoga Board Game might sound a little bit daunting but it’s very child-friendly.  The game helps to initiate discussions about things like healthy food choices and requires kids to learn the steps in playing a board game.  The first one to reach OM wins.   My only complaint about this game is that I could see some people not purchasing this game simply because of that meditation aspect.  That might sound silly but I do come from a pretty conservative background, there are people like that.  Otherwise this game is fun for the family and gets people laughing!
Our next game was the YOGA! Spinner.  There’s a reason why this game has won all kinds of awards!   If you’re a classroom teacher, this is a great game to have in the classroom for those five minutes before lunch.  Let a different student spin each day. This is even something a pair of students could play together.  If you’ve got small children at home, this is the perfect game to pull out on a rainy day.  The tasks on the cards are pretty simple to follow; you could easily modify them for children of higher ability or even with disabilities. Although there’s a winner in this game, you could also adjust the rules so that everyone just participates and there’s no competition.  If you need some basics about the poses in yoga or just want some easy tips to follow, be sure to check out the Parents page at Upside Down Games.   Upside Down Games is offering one reader a Yoga Spinner Board Game in this giveaway ($19.95 value)!  Do use common sense while playing, of course.  What I mean is, don’t allow your child to try any poses that are uncomfortable or painful.
We also played the game Tapple together. Well, my kids played it while I cracked up on the sidelines. The game is a lot more challenging than it looks.  It reminds me of something like Scattergories, where you have to list several items from a certain category. The problem here is that you don’t name those items, you spell them. Oh, and not all the letters are available on the unit.  The timer is ticking, which makes you panic, and you just can’t finish in time.  It’s a lot of fun and moves quickly. This is another great classroom game.  One suggestion I have for you, though, is remove the batteries from the unit when you’re finished playing.  My kids tried to get this game out all the time and the ticking of the timer drove me crazy.  This is a game that the kids can play on their own.  You could even let your kids make up their own categories to keep things fun!
Now, you’ve got to add an element of snacking to your game night, of course.  And what better to serve up your drinks than in a red cup?  I’m not talking about that plastic red Solo cup that gets tossed at the end of the night.  Oh no, you deserve something way better. What about these reusable, dishwasher-safe cups from Red Cup Living?

These are actually our favorite cups now.  We love that they hold a lot of iced water (18 oz as a matter of fact!) and they are BPA free.  Santa will be getting a plate of cookies as usual, but his milk will be served in a cup from Red Cup Living.  You can read my full review to see what else is available!
