If you could ask God any question — just one — what would you ask?

And would you expect the answer to come in the form of a blog comment?

Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe book review - savingsinseconds.com

Max Lucado is one of my favorite “one click” authors.  This is the first time I’ve read a novel written by him, though, and I wasn’t really sure what to expect.  Come to think of it, I don’t think Chelsea (the main character) knew what to expect, either.  Throughout most of the book Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe, Chelse seemed to be in a bit of a whirlwind, trying to make her puzzle pieces fit together.  She tried to establish rules, conformity, and strict adherence to what she saw as perfection.  Sound familiar?  Many of us try to fit that mold, too, but it doesn’t usually work out.

What really spoke to me throughout this book was the behind-the-scenes view of spiritual warfare.  My grandmother once told my mom that she saw God watching over me.  Even though I was a very small child when she said that, it always brought me comfort and peace in hard times.  The “Footprints” poem stood out in my mind as I watched how God lovingly made sure that Chelsea never walked alone.  It reminded me that He’s always by my side, too.

Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe offers a feel-good read to a wide audience. Blog readers, coffee lovers, and tired wives will appreciate the sentiments in this book.  Perfect for a Sunday afternoon on the porch, the book is full of flavor and has all the makings of a TV movie!

In Max Lucado’s new fiction release, Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe, he asks, If you could ask God anything, what would you ask—and how would he answer? When a catastrophe strikes and her ex comes calling, Chelsea begins to wonder if the whole universe is conspiring against her quest to make it on her own. After a shocking discovery opens her eyes to the unseen world around her, Chelsea finds the courage to ask, and heaven answers in a most unexpected way.

This sounds like a book everyone can relate to something in. I’ve heard lots of good things about Max Lucado but only looked at his children’s books before. I do like the idea of your suggestion for a TV movie.
