Disclosure: I’m a Tommy Mommy blogger and received this book through the program. Opinions shared are mine.

Duck Commander stories usually remind me of my quirky but loving family.  The newest title, Happy, Happy, Happy Stories for Kids by Korie Robertson and Chrys Howard, is perfect for kids ages 4-8. The book contains an abundance of family-friendly, funny, and mostly true Duck Dynasty stories that kids (and parents) can relate to.

Each story is prefaced by a relevant Bible verse. Likewise, each ends with a few comprehension questions about the details of the story. I would have liked it better if the questions were more pertinent to developing values (like, “How did it make Will feel when…”) instead of unimportant details about the characters. After the story, kids will find a list of action steps they can take to avoid the mishaps experienced by the characters. They’ll need parental help to execute these plans, but it’s all very basic and easy to accomplish. I love that the last few pages of the book are blank so the reader can record his own story. The final note from Korie and Chrys is so sweet that it really belongs in the beginning. It’s just inspirational and encouraging.

To fully appreciate these stories, though, the reader should be familiar with the cast of the Duck Dynasty show. It’s probably not going to be as meaningful without recognizing Sadie, Bella, 2-Mama, and the rest of the family. The stories revolve around common American themes such as birthday parties, Legos, and spending time with family.
