My grandmother has been passing her extra coupon inserts to me for years. I’ve been so grateful for the extra savings! Usually, there are more coupons than I can use, or there are savings on brands we don’t buy. What to do with the extra coupons? Share the coupon love, of course! Here are some of my favorite ways to do that.
Send your extra coupons to a friend. I joined a coupon train, in which “riders” send a weekly envelope to the same recipient every week. My coupon buddy lives across the country, so she receives my envelope by the end of the week. It’s nice to get coupons from different regions, and I love that my extras don’t go to waste. It takes just a few minutes to pack up the extras in a mailer or envelope, seal it up, and ship it off! I use packing tape to seal the edges of the envelope so that it doesn’t come apart in the mail. Keeping a few rolls of this tape is very handy because it’s so versatile. The dispenser is included, and there are plenty of extra rolls. I send packages of books back to my grandmother, so the packing tape is used often at my house! It’s great for professional use, too, so keep a roll at the office.
Pass your extra coupons along to a friend. Make the envelope pretty and bright so that it looks almost like a gift! I recently received this Hand-Lettering for Everyone workbook, and had so much fun trying the different styles. The pages are full of spaces for inspired designs. Spacing, embellishments, and shaping are topics explored in this book. I’ve always enjoyed playing with handwritten fonts, so this book just really made my day! You could use the ideas to create your own gift tags, homemade cards, and more. I was excited to decorate my coupon envelope, and left it in the mailroom at work. I know someone will enjoy the savings!
Everyone loves a coupon fairy! Whenever I find a coupon next to a product I was already planning to buy, it just makes my day. Once a fellow shopper noticed when I placed a coupon next to the cheese shelf just before she selected a bag; she caught up to me to thank me for sharing.
Ready to decorate your own coupon envelope?
I like that it encourages creativity.
This is fantastic! I love Bible journaling but am not so good with the lettering… this could be a huge help!
I love that it has engaging exercises, maybe I could learn to do this. Been wanting to.
I love chalk markers and love that this can teach me better lettering.
I love the idea of this book! This would be so fun! I’m big on writing and always keep journals and see pictures of other people’s journals and mine looks so bland in comparison. This would be a handy little learning device 🙂
This looks really fun! I’ve been wanting to learn more handwriting and calligraphy 🙂
