Teaching 6th grade for nearly 2 decades (ouch….it hurts to type that) has kept me young. People often comment, “Oh, I’m sorry!” or “Wow, I don’t know how you do it” when I tell them that I teach middle school. Although that reaction usually gives me a chuckle, it’s unfounded. I really do love working with middle schoolers. They have so much energy and emotion that it just bubbles out of them. Sometimes that bubbling is a little too much, but there’s always another day. There are moments, however, when I need some grown up time. And a grown up dress, please.
Other than my wedding and the formal dances in high school/college, I’ve never had an opportunity to wear formal gowns. My husband and I don’t really run in fancy circles, which is okay with me. Now, there’s always going to be part of me that is still young. For example, I’m a little bit of a Disney fan. Okay, a LOT a bit of a Disney fan. Any girl who has a Disney tab on her blog probably thinks about The World a little too often for her own good. Tonight I got the most exciting news about the upcoming Toy Story 4 movie. The release date is currently planned for June 16, 2017. Director John Lasseter (original director of TS1 and TS2) hinted that the movie will live up to the Toy Story expectation. For me, there are very few movie series that seemed to be consistently good throughout all the titles. The Toy Story trio is one of those special sets that I love to watch with my kids. I’m thrilled that the Disney Pixar crew is bringing it back to life!!!

I don’t dress up in formal gowns either, but I love to dress up when I attend weddings. It’s fun to feel glamorous!

If I needed something formal I would be completely lost. All I owe is tee shirts and jeans.
I just read yesterday about them making Toy Story 4. I hope it is as good as #3 – that one is my favorite!

I have been to a few red carpet events and have worn gowns. That one is absolutely stunning, although I have a pear shape so I don’t think it would look right on me.
I told my kids about Toy Story 4 and they are so excited but they don’t want to wait 3 years!

I think it’s great that you are a middle school teacher. A hard age so I can understand why you would need the fun of Disney and the seriousness of grown up time too. The dresses at decent prices are wonderful options to have.

I am a HUGE Disney fan, too. It is tied for my favorite place on Earth. Some people think I’m crazy, but I love it.

Not everyone is cut out to be a middle school teacher. I’ve seen some that would be better off working in a cubicle somewhere. But the ones that truly love teaching can really change the lives of the kids they come in contact with each day.
