Isn’t Thanksgiving a time of blessings? I always pause to remember my loved ones and friends who are too far to see on the holidays. My husband and I are transplants in Northeast Tennessee; our family is spread out across the Eastern seaboard and near the midwest. We never get to spend the holidays with everyone that we love, so we often send our greetings in the form of gifts. The turkey, mashed potatoes, and desserts embody a certain sense of peace for me. It’s clear from the state of my thighs that emotional eating is part of my life, but this goes deeper. As I perused the pages on the California Delicious website, I was struck by the variety of gift baskets available. My first image of a “gift basket” is usually a fruit basket. I’m not sure why that is. Receiving a basket of California fruit for Thanksgiving would be like placing a bowl of sunshine on the table, right? Consider sending a basket of high-quality chocolates or gourmet cheeses as well. For a calorie-free basket, what about a lavender spa package? Something else I liked about the website was the affordability of items. The prices are widely ranged so that you can find a basket for nearly every budget.
