Gentle and natural skincare

Gentle and natural are two factors I look for when trying to find a facial cleanser. My skin has some serious sensitivities and I never know what’s going to set it off. I remember the first time my mom bought me a bar of “face soap” when I was an acne-ridden teen. My eyes swelled shut and I was red as a tomato. Such a pleasant experience for a self-conscious teenager. When I was a newlywed, a friend convinced me to have a makeover done with her at the Clinique counter. It was fun until later that afternoon when again, my eyes swelled shut and my skin was all red. My husband went with me to return the cleansers and makeup I had purchased. It hadn’t even been taken out of the bag yet. At first the saleswoman tried to tell me that they don’t take makeup back, but I lifted my sunglasses and she saw my swollen eyelids. No questions asked after that; she gave me a full refund. These incidents have left me feeling quite wary of anything that touches my face. You know the instructions that tell you to do a little test spot first? It’s necessary for me!!

Evande's natural skincare worked well for me. savingsinseconds.com #ad

I tried the facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer from Evande with trepidation. The reason I was willing to give it a go was because it’s filled with natural ingredients. It claimed to be mild and gentle. The price is pretty reasonable compared to some of the other facial cleansers I use. I’m a devoted Arbonne fan since I know it doesn’t give me a reaction, but the cleanser runs $40 for a 3 oz bottle. Yikes! It lasts me about 6 months because I only have to use a small amount. Evande’s cleanser is $9.99 for a 6.8 oz bottle. I found that the formula was indeed gentle on my skin. One thing I liked about it was that it removed my eye makeup so that I didn’t have that extra step. It’s very creamy and a little goes a long way. My pores are very visible; I inherited that from my dad. I don’t like to use toner; however, this is alcohol-free so it doesn’t have that drying effect. My skin didn’t feel all tingly afterwards, but it did feel smooth and clean. The one thing I didn’t like about this set was the moisturizer. It was too heavy for me. Granted, I rarely use a moisturizer anyway because my skin is fairly oily. In the winter, I would use this sparingly on dry patchy spots as needed, but otherwise I’ll just skip this step.

The true test of this set was the wait-and-see if it caused a reaction. And thankfully, no, it didn’t! I was able to use this cleanser with absolutely no irritation or swelling. Whew! What a relief! It’s nice to know that I have a budget-friendly backup for skincare. Do you have a tried and true skincare system that you use? Would Evande be something you’d like to try?  You can get a free travel pack by signing up on Evande’s page.   They even pay shipping! Who doesn’t love getting a free gift?!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  3. I love cream cleansers for my face because they don’t strip moisture. I rotate between a few brands of natural skincare products that I like. I would give Evande a try

  4. I always use a cream cleanser or the oil cleansing method to wash my face because my skin is very sensitive. I haven’t heard of this brand but I will definitely check them out. I love that it is very affordable.

  5. These products look really good, and I have dry skin on my face, and these look like they will really work for me. I am going to see if they still have the free trial pack, so I can see how this works.

  6. I would like to check out Evande. I’m just like you in that I have to try a new product with intrepidation. So far, only an inexpensive cold cream I can use.
