My husband used Doctor on Demand last fall when he was having some complications from a medical procedure. He had a serious bout with kidney stones then experienced trouble with recovery. He’s rather stubborn sometimes and didn’t want to go to the doctor. I encouraged him to try Doctor on Demand using my app. He paid the fee using the app, talked with the doctor, and moments later I went out to pick up his prescription. It was so simple! Since then, he’s raved about Doctor on Demand. I loved that we didn’t have to spend hours of our weekend sitting in the doctor’s office or the ER. He loved that it was non-invasive, private, and ultra convenient. Avoid the waiting room with @DrOnDemand - the first visit is FREE for a limited time! #FeelBetter #ad savingsinseconds.com

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this service but I’m still on the fence. I think a free trial would be great just to see how smooth the service runs mobile.

  2. I think something like Doctor on Demand is great in rural areas where access to doctors might be more limited.

  3. Honestly I have mixed feelings on this but mostly my feelings are positive – this is the direction of our future and as hard as it is to get into an actual dr visit, this may be the best answer! I know for sure several times over the past year we truly could have needed this. I guess I just wish things were not ALL about online lol but hey it is and that is where we are in society so this is a great idea!

  4. Yes, I think they’re wise to offer a first visit free so people can check it out.

  5. The NOT spending hours in the germy ER would be enough for me to use Doctor on demand. I am definitely using this next time I need a simple perscription.

I can see the usefulness and appeal of this. Doctor’s offices and waiting rooms are hard to deal with when you are feeling healthy but when you are sick you don’t want to deal with them and certainly don’t want to get in the car to go sit in them. Great way to put a doctor at your fingertips and at your call.

  7. Interesting. This is the first time I’m hearing of this. I could see it being useful when traveling or away from home.

This is a wonderful service. I will be using this

  9. I’ll definitely let my daughter know about this. Between college & her job, it sounds like this would be a great option.

    • There were many times I needed to visit a doctor during college, but I didn’t have insurance. and couldn’t afford to pay $$$ out of pocket. This is such a way to take care of this problem!

  10. It’s great that it’s there 24/7. And $40 for 15 minutes is pretty good, most doctors charge more then that for like 5 minutes.

  11. This is such a useful service that I could have used so many times in the past! It’s amazing what technology is coming out with these days!

  12. Oh what a great option!! With how much we travel it can be hard time to get into a doctor when we need to.

  13. wow this is interesting. I think this would be useful for people who cant gt into the dr. Sometimes my husband needs to go but he can’t due to his work schedule. I wonder if he would try this instead.

    • That’s so true, Amanda! My husband commutes to work so, during the week, it’s hard for him to get to a doctor near home. He absolutely loves using Doctor on Demand because it’s so easy to work into his schedule.

  14. I’ve never used Doctor on Demand, but my employer has something similar in our healthcare benefits. I love house call (there’s a video option too, but I usually go for them visiting me) doctors – if you live alone like I do, it can be tough getting to the doctor if you’re sick. And it eliminates sitting in a waiting room, picking up other colds or the flu from other patients. If I ever have an insurance change and don’t have that option any more, I’ll give this a try 🙂

  15. I have to check this out. I hate going to the doctor so this might be just about perfect for me.

I’m amazed at all this does. I heard about it again today on Dr. Phil. New doctors are being added and the availability is amazing.

  17. As I sometimes say – the future is so neat! – maybe I am being an old person this is something that you couldn’t have imagined not that long ago! It’s fantastic.

  18. Wow I’ve not heard of anything like that here in Canada.
