Entertaining the kids can be a daunting task, especially when you don’t have the juice to keep even yourself going. 1. Get a new box of coloring pencils, stickers, and plenty of paper.  Have the kids draw outside on the patio or deck.  If necessary, give them a task — such as drawing the buds on a tree, or sketching birds that appear in the yard. 3.  Have the older kids set up an activity day for the younger kids. This might seem like passing the buck, but it is a two-fold challenge. It teaches the older children how to gauge time management and interest levels of a particular audience.  Secondly, it requires the younger set to follow instructions from a different authority figure.  Just stick around to supervise and handle any bigger situations that might arise.
