Disclosure: I received free books; opinions shared are mine.
Back in my days of teaching 6th grade math, Pi Day was always so much fun! We played circle-themed games and ate Moon Pie snacks. The kids loved trying to draw the perfect circle! I’m not a great artist, but it’s not too hard to make pretty artwork with these two new books from Fox Chapel. Let’s Draw Flowers and Watercolor Flowers really make it simple. If you’re looking for a fun Pi Day activity, consider starting with these flower projects, then have fun measuring and coloring!
Doodling just won’t be the same after you try Let’s Draw Flowers. This bright, cheerful book gives beginning artists lots of ideas to embellish sketches. Author Angelea van Dam provides all her secrets, from lines to vines to tiny pearls. Practice pages allow space for inspired doodles. This book could also double as a coloring book! The circular center of a flower is just the beginning of a beautiful hobby. Soon you’ll know how to draw bold, blooming giant flowers!
If drawing isn’t your thing, check out Just Add Watercolor Flowers. It’s very similar to Happy Thoughts! Printed on sturdy paper, these finished pieces of art are suitable for gift giving. You can paint with actual watercolors, or use water soluble colored pencils. Personally, I would even like to use Flair pens on these gorgeous greyline illustrations.
One lucky reader will win BOTH books thanks to Fox Chapel! The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
Thanks to Fox Chapel for sending me these books.
