The first ride home from the hospital is always momentous but completely ordinary at the same time. With my first child, we had that moment of panic because the car seat, although purchased, wasn’t yet installed. Cut us some slack; she was a preemie and we just weren’t prepared! When my son arrived, it was with great relief. For one thing, we had some difficulties with conceiving in the first place. Then there was gestational diabetes and a host of other problems, so getting home was an enormous relief. I’ll always cherish this photo because it was an extra special moment. My mother-in-law saved my husband’s going-home outfit from 33 years ago. When my son came home from the hospital, he wore his daddy’s going home outfit. Isn’t that special?! Wow, what a super-cool campaign! Definitely tugged at my heartstrings, and while I can’t directly relate, I can understand the stress bringing your baby home in the car for the first time can cause!
I bet that first drive home is also one of the most stressful for new parents. It’s great Mistubishi is putting new parents minds at ease- we all stress, and its normal, right?
Awww, how special about the first ride outfit! I love stories like that. My husband is certified to help people install their car seats correctly. They regularly hold demonstrations at the fire house to teach new parents how to do it.

A friend of my daughter’s just had her first. They just posted pics yesterday of the car ride and her safely in her car seat. Adorable and so precious. Great keepsakes to have.
