Welcome to the Christmas in July giveaway hop hosted by Parenting in Northern KY.  This event features prizes that would make great Christmas gifts this year!  The event runs from July 11 through July 25, 2014.  Our giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Enter on the Rafflecopter below.  Good luck!

Thanks to Maximum Games and Tommy Nelson for providing prizes for our giveaway.

If you have a little farmer in the house, or maybe even a big John Deere kind of guy, you’ll want to give the gift of Farming Simulator this year!  Through this game, players can explore the challenges of farming life.  Growing and harvesting different crops is a key component of the game, as well as breeding and caring for animals.   This is a fun opportunity to learn about managing the business of a farm, too.  Farming Simulator is a popular game on other consoles (PSP and XBox360) but was just released for 3DS in June.  Farming Simulator 3DS retails for $29.99.

Tommy Nelson compiled an excellent collection of Bible stories in the book God’s Word For Me.  Children will love these stories, each accompanied by a verse, as you read the book together.  The stories are told in child-friendly language that is a direct translation of the Bible, much like an abridged version.  If you’re looking for a way to introduce spiritual ideas to your child, this is a great way to start.  I love the sweet illustrations that went with each story; they reminded me of the Sunday School pamphlets I used to receive at church.  The lessons that are brought up in this book are perfect for establishing basic values with your family.  The book is in hardcover format so it’s sturdy, too.  God’s Word For Me retails for $14.99.

I like that there are Bible stories out there for kids. It is important to get children learning about the Bible and interested in the Bible, but they need it in a way that will entertain and intrigue them in a language they understand. This looks like a good book.
