Studio C is a show the whole family can enjoy. savingsinseconds.com

When you grow up watching Saturday Night Live, the entire world seems like a sketch comedy show.  In my work as a teacher, every day at least one situation plays out like a Seinfeld episode.  Comments like, “We were on a break!” might not seem important to most, but for those who watched Friends it brings back fond memories of Ross and Rachel.  If those shows make you smile, you need to check out Studio C.  Studio C has the same 1990’s humor without needing to dip into bad language or sexual innuendo.  Most of the sketches are performed by college age kids; it reminds me of The Kids In The Hall.  While I didn’t think the skits were incredibly hilarious, they were often funny and creative.  Season 2 was much more interesting to me.  By bringing in better props, costumes, and playing to current trends (the Downtown Abbey skit was a hoot) the Studio C cast made their show something to share.  I appreciate sarcastic humor and enjoyed the dry wit that the skits often present. One of my favorites was Operation Breakup in season 2.  Often the skits went on just a bit too long.  Dragging the scene just a few past the point that the humor stopped was the only complaint I had about this series.

The best part of Studio C is that my 9 year old daughter can watch it with me.  She’s old enough to understand the offbeat humor that these shows perform and loves the quirky songs and jokes.   Both of my kids love to watch the Incredible Crew on Cartoon Network but I don’t let them watch it because of  the inappropriate commercials and other shows that are aired on that channel.   With Studio C, I don’t have to worry that my children might see something that is too mature.  If my daughter repeats something from Studio C at school, it won’t make me cringe.  Many of the skits center around teenage/young adult issues like dating or learning to drive, so this is a good show to watch with your high school student.  Be sure to enter the giveaway on the Rafflecopter form below.
