Jesus Calling giveaway at savingsinseconds.com -- thanks to sponsor @TommyNelson

A few years ago, my dear friend Alana gave me a copy of the Jesus Calling devotional. Since then, I’ve purchased it several times as gifts for others.   What makes this devotional series different for me is the beautiful, personal way in which author Sarah Young presents the love of Jesus.  These gentle words bring peace, comfort, and healing to a tired soul.  These daily passages are very direct in sharing God’s love.

For the kiddos, the book Jesus Calling for Kids contains a similar structure and tone, but is more kid-friendly. The messages are simpler, and include topics to which the little ones will relate. I enjoy reading this with my children. We get to discuss situations they’ve experienced with family members, problems at school, and big ideas like respect and self-image. Jesus Calling for Kids opens doors for conversations that we might not otherwise have. It’s also comforting to know that my children might take a little bit of that love and comfort with them throughout the day. If it just helps them to do the right thing, or stand a little taller, isn’t it worth it?

I would REALLY love to see Jesus Calling for Kids to be modified as a devotional for English Language Learners (or whatever the PC term is these days). My mom speaks English, but it’s difficult for her to read, so the adult version of Jesus Calling wouldn’t be an option for her. The kids version is right on target for her, but not all of the topics are relevant (homework, for example, isn’t an issue). I hope to see something like that come out in the Jesus Calling series.

One lucky reader will win copies of Jesus Calling and Jesus Calling for Kids. The Jesus Calling devotionals would be a wonderful way to start the new year with your family. To enter, visit the form below. Giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+ (void where prohibited by law) and ends 1/1/16. Good luck!
