My daughter is every bit of 10 years old.  If you aren’t around many tweens these days, you would be surprised at how much older kids at this age seem (compared to generations past).  Even though we are careful about what her innocent eyes and ears are exposed to, my little girl is much more vulnerable to the world than girls of my generation were.  Social media, TV, and the general way of the world won’t change, but her outlook on her future may.  That’s why I absolutely LOVE the book 10 Ultimate Truths Girls Should Know.  I’m thinking about buying copies for my nieces; they won’t hear this information from their mom and they NEED to know what’s going on as they grow up.  I love the way that author Kari Kampakis talks a real talk — just as if she’s an older sister sharing much-needed information.  There’s nothing bawdy or graphic, yet the point is made.  She needs to value herself in a modest, virtuous manner.  If you have a teen girl in your life, this book needs to find its way into her hands!
