Dandelion Field review - savingsinseconds.com

Savor the romance of Valentine’s Day with a new story of falling in love in Kathryn Springer’s The Dandelion FieldThe handsome firefighter makes a living “coming to the rescue,” but Gin is used to fighting her own battles. Can a woman who doesn’t believe in happy endings take a chance on a new beginning? Did you win the Kindle Fire giveaway?  The winner will be announced February 16th on the Litfuse blog.

Last night on Downton Abbey, I loved when Mr. Bates told Anna, “Whenever I see a problem, you see a solution.” That’s how God thinks. The problems that we worry over can become blessings in His hand. When we lose sleep over some family drama or work situation, God can use it as an opportunity for us to grow closer to Him. The opening pages of Dandelion Field seem like one of those times when we might cry in frustration or shame. Instead, the book shows that God can work all things for His good.

One of the best features about Dandelion Field is the way that author Kathryn Springer masterfully weaves two stories into one.   The book deals with some tough moral issues.  It’s a good book to read with your teen daughter, gently opening up some conversation doors that you might need to prop up for a little while. The healing balm of forgiveness soothes the pain that could have been tragic in this story. The reader can’t help but think, “What would I do?” and “What if that happened to me?” It’s a story that we’ve all experienced in one way or another. How the story ends depends on how much we lean on God’s help.

Sounds like a good book, I think reading it with your teenage daughter is a nice idea.

I love that realization…God sees and knows the solution to every problem. Every closed door is an open window type thinking. Moral issues arise all the time, and it’s good to read books together and talk early on about turning to God.
