Holiday Cards your life can actually deal with + PayPal #giveaway #ad

Last year I went through the whole portrait studio process and ordered 100 photo cards. We waited for an hour for them to be printed (which I thought was pretty fast) and I took them home. Since it was just September, the cards went right into the office cabinet….where they still sit to this day. That’s right, I have 100 photo cards from last year that were never mailed. Why? The reasons are many….never got around to stuffing the envelopes, addressing the envelopes, or mailing them.  Why didn’t anyone tell me about Minted?  Don’t worry, friend  I’ve got the details about holiday cards for you!  [Read more…]

Our family only gets dolled up for “real” photos once a year — for holiday cards!  My kids are typically the ones in front of the camera.  I love it when family pictures look well-coordinated because of complementing outfits.  The Janie and Jack Mommy and Me holiday collection makes that so simple!   [Read more…]

Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween @Lionsgate #Boo2 #ad

This is our first year of camping fun, so we have a lot to learn!  My friend Lori told me that the best place to go Trick or Treating is the campground at Roan Mountain.  She said the campground gates close at 4 pm because there are so many visitors on that night.  When I was invited to participate in the #Boo2 promotion, I thought of the campground again….this time, wondering how a haunted campground (like the one in A Madea Halloween) might change things! Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Lionsgate. I received information to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. [Read more…]

Bringing Maggie Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Disclosure: I received this book as part of the blog tour. Opinions shared are mine.
Family responsibilities and obligations can weigh heavy on a young heart.  From a young age, Hazel Mae bore the emotional burden of caring for her younger sister….the one who went missing on Hazel’s watch.  As an older sister, I totally understand that feeling of care-giving for a younger sibling, and for feeling responsible when something went wrong.  Bringing Maggie Home brings back all of those panic-inducing emotions.  No matter where you fit in the whole scheme of family relationships, there is someone in this book who will remind you of a person you know.

It’s time to start thinking about the colder days of fall and winter. Having a creative outlet is important!  This slim paperback from Discovery is just the ticket for kids.  So Awesome contains puzzles, facts, and photos that are short enough to be engaging yet interesting enough to keep their attention. It’s marketed for ages 6-9; however, I think it’s also perfect for middle school kids, especially those who have trouble with reading. [Read more…]

Same Kind of Different As Me movie release #ad #SameKindMovieL3 #giveaway

Disclosure: I was compensated for this post. Opinions shared are mine.

My children don’t usually realize how blessed they are.  Sometimes I wonder if I’ve allowed them to grow up too soft, ill prepared for hardships they might face in the world.  We’re not wealthy or living in the lap of luxury, but we definitely have a comfortable, content life. My husband and I have tried to demonstrate a life of service and faith, but sometimes I wonder….is it enough? Can we make a difference, not just in the lives of our own children, but for the whole of God’s kingdom?  In the movie Same Kind of Different As Me (releases Oct. 20),  an unforgettable true story of forgiveness, love, and friendship celebrates what happens when faith becomes action.  The tremendous talent for this movie includes names like Greg Kinnear, Renée Zellweger, Djimon Hounsou, and Jon Voight.
