Get the Look You Want with Model Model Lace Front Wigs

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.

My mom had spine surgery two years ago and needed 6 months to fully recover.  Just before she had the procedure, she cut her hair VERY short.  We’re not talking about a cute pixie cut.  She basically had it shaved.  I couldn’t believe it — my mom always had such pride in her hair.  She said she wanted it to be fuss-free while she recovered.  Since I live 300 miles away from her, I couldn’t be there to help her care for herself (tears….)  I wish I’d known about model model lace front wigs at that time.  A beautiful wig would have been such a blessing for her, and affordable peace of mind for me.

The best medicine: How to Hang A Witch, The Fifth Petal, and January BB5

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I am a Beauty Box 5 blogger and received a complimentary box. Opinions shared are mine.

Last week, I had the flu.  My immune system’s downhill ride actually started the week before.  When all I wanted to do was sit around and read How to Hang a Witch, no one thought anything of it.  All I ever want to do is sit around and read.  Finishing the book in two days was no big surprise.  I should have known there was something wrong when I didn’t immediately get on here and post about it, though!   So here’s the review….couple of weeks late but don’t hold it against me!  Books and beauty products are sometimes the best medicine, don’t you think?

How to save money on Crest Whitestrips – Sweet Savings

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links; opinions shared are mine.

You guys know how much I love my subscription boxes. It’s fun to get “good” mail, and trying new products is exciting. If you’ve wondered how to save on pricey Crest whitestrips and toothpaste, here’s a tip. Recently I discovered the Amazon beauty sample box and was really impressed! The best part is that the $11.99 cost is CREDITED back to your Amazon prime account when you purchase selected items. Basically, it pays for itself!

The Whitestrips had a $10 off coupon on Amazon, which stacked with the $11.99 credit. Since I was already planning to buy Whitestrips as stocking stuffers, this was a huge savings. I also tried the Crest Whitestrip sample box. It’s only $4.99 and also comes with that awesome credit feature, and it stacked with the other credit PLUS the $10 coupon. So, my total out-of-pocket expense for the $36.xx box of Whitestrips was under $23. That doesn’t include the other samples I received, which were really top-notch as well. Here’s what my final screen looked like (remember, I also got the Crest sample box and used it to buy a twin pack of toothpaste.)

You do have to be a Prime member to take advantage of these sweet savings, so if you don’t already have it, I highly suggest the Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial.

We are gifting one lucky reader with a beauty sample box. (If, for some reason, Amazon doesn’t allow it to be shipped elsewhere, we will substitute a $12 Amazon gift card.) To enter, visit the giveaway form below. The giveaway is open to US readers who live where Prime ships free. Ages 18+, void where prohibited by law. Good luck!  Giveaway ended. The winner is shown below.

How to soothe itchy skin during the winter months

Disclosure: I received product samples to try. Post contains affiliate links; opinions shared are mine.

My skin is generally easy going, but it complains during the winter months. As soon as it’s time to break out the long sleeved shirts, small red bumps develop along my wrists.  Sometimes the dry winter air, combined with frequent hand washing, wreaks havoc on my hands, where the skin becomes so dry that it cracks and bleeds.  Anywhere elastic touches my skin, it leaves red itchy spots.  In the past, I’ve had to resort to months of steroid treatments to soothe my itchy skin. Fortunately, natural remedies are working well for me this year! [Read more…]

My son is a mama’s boy. He’s always been this way. Although he adores his daddy and practically worships his sister, there’s something different about the way he needs his mom. So when I caught him spraying the brand new bottle of My Pure perfume throughout the living room because he wanted it to smell like me, how could I be angry? [Read more…]

My mom is the type of person who lives and breathes in a five mile radius. She rarely travels outside of her little circle. Her schedule is dominated by work, caring for her home, and the occasional grocery store trip.  She never shops online, and rarely spends any money on herself.  I like to send her small gifts a few times a year to let her know how much I think of her.  Usually my packages to her include beauty products that I know she’ll love — lengthening mascara, a stay-put primer, or a cute blanket scarf. This Christmas, I’ll surprise her with Neocell Beauty Infusion.  It’ll be the star under her tree!  [Read more…]

During the fall and winter months, you’ll notice a change in my clothing and makeup shades. I tend to wear darker colors.  The thing is, precision is key when applying darker eye shadow!  There’s a fine line between smoky and go-wash-it-off, don’t you think?  An excellent makeup mirror is essential, especially if you’re going to be changing up your cosmetic routine.  Here are some features I like in a makeup mirror.
