Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween @Lionsgate #Boo2 #ad

This is our first year of camping fun, so we have a lot to learn!  My friend Lori told me that the best place to go Trick or Treating is the campground at Roan Mountain.  She said the campground gates close at 4 pm because there are so many visitors on that night.  When I was invited to participate in the #Boo2 promotion, I thought of the campground again….this time, wondering how a haunted campground (like the one in A Madea Halloween) might change things! Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Lionsgate. I received information to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. [Read more…]

Discovery So Awesome! Solve the Puzzles, Discover the Facts! US #giveaway

Disclosure: Parragon Books sent me this book to review. Post contains affiliate links; if you make a purchase, I will earn a commission. Opinions shared are mine.

It’s time to start thinking about the colder days of fall and winter. Having a creative outlet is important!  This slim paperback from Discovery is just the ticket for kids.  So Awesome contains puzzles, facts, and photos that are short enough to be engaging yet interesting enough to keep their attention. It’s marketed for ages 6-9; however, I think it’s also perfect for middle school kids, especially those who have trouble with reading. [Read more…]

Same Kind of Different As Me movie release #ad #SameKindMovieL3 #giveaway

Disclosure: I was compensated for this post. Opinions shared are mine.

My children don’t usually realize how blessed they are.  Sometimes I wonder if I’ve allowed them to grow up too soft, ill prepared for hardships they might face in the world.  We’re not wealthy or living in the lap of luxury, but we definitely have a comfortable, content life. My husband and I have tried to demonstrate a life of service and faith, but sometimes I wonder….is it enough? Can we make a difference, not just in the lives of our own children, but for the whole of God’s kingdom?  In the movie Same Kind of Different As Me (releases Oct. 20),  an unforgettable true story of forgiveness, love, and friendship celebrates what happens when faith becomes action.  The tremendous talent for this movie includes names like Greg Kinnear, Renée Zellweger, Djimon Hounsou, and Jon Voight. Autumn is the perfect time to add new worship music to your rotation.  The cooler weather can sometimes feel dreary after the sunshine of summer.  Likewise, the seasons of the soul can become colder and less fruitful.  Let the new Jeremy Camp “The Answer” album be the encouragement you need to feel stronger for fall. Little Wolf’s Book of Badness book + DVD from NCircle Entertainment

Disclosure: I am an NCircle Entertainment ambassador and received this DVD for free. Opinions shared are mine.

Kids love to hear stories about characters who do things completely against the grain.  Junie B. Jones, Dennis the Menace, and Heinz Doofenshmirtz are flawed yet lovable.  Little Wolf fits the bill in the opposite way…..in his world, he’s supposed to be bad (like his Uncle, BigBad) but he’s actually GOOD.  What’s a wolf to do?

Molang Season 1 DVD from NCircle Entertainment

Since I’m an NCircle Entertainment ambassador, each month brings a delightful DVD right to my door (disclosure!!)  As always, opinions shared are mine. When the Molang Season 1 DVD arrived, my kids –ages 8 and 13 — immediately asked, “What’s that?”  Here’s what Molang looks like, people….it looks so simplistic and young for my kids, right?

What’s your 9/11 story? #Remember911 @9_11Movie

Disclosure: I will receive a gift pack like the one shown here.  Opinions shared are mine.

It’s always fascinated me that people can so distinctly remember a snapshot of a shared public event.  For example, those who were living when JFK was assassinated can usually tell you specific details about where they were, what they were doing, and even what they wore as the news broke.  I remember seeing the explosion of the Challenger space shuttle when I was in school, and can see our little class sitting on the floor crowded around the big TV cart.   [Read more…]
