People always say you can still get the flu even if you got the shot. Some people say that they get the flu worse if they get the shot. I can’t attest to the second opinion, but the first is true.  I always get the shot…..and this year, I still got the flu.  UGH.  Thankfully, there were some books waiting on the shelf for me.  Since I can barely lift my head for more than a couple of minutes at a time, reading a book is pretty much my only open-eyed activity right now.  Then I remembered that this post was due and awwww…….it’s like getting a feel-better card in the mail. It’s official….sometimes books are better than cards.   I’m so lucky to share I’m Going to Give You a Bear Hug! with you.

First of all, the pictures are adorable.  Each one features a different animal snuggled up with a darling child (boy? girl?  Not sure, and it doesn’t matter.)   The book is based on a rhyme author C. Cooney wrote for her own children, which makes it even more charming!!  By the way, yes….it’s THAT Caroline Cooney. The one who writes all the scaryish teen books you loved when you were in middle school.  See, she’s got all kinds of talent!  I received a large size hardcover with full-color glossy paper pages.  It’s also available in board book format.

When I read this, all dosed up on Tamiflu, it struck me that this book was as heartwarming as receiving a get-well card.  My son is the lovey-dovey person in my life. He loves to hug, kiss, and bump noses to show his love.  When I came home sick yesterday, he immediately covered me up with a blanket and told me to rest.  That’s his version of a bear hug when I’m contagious, you know.  As I crawl back into my bear cave (the Nyquil is kicking in), I leave you with this sweet chance to win.

One lucky reader will win a copy of this sweet book.  Will it be you? Enter on the giveaway form below. Open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law.  Good luck!
