A few months ago, I shared a beautiful book with you — The Biggest Story.  Now you can order its companion DVD and audio CD.  We had the chance to check out these resources, and found them to be an excellent addition to our family’s DVD collection!

Just as the book had vibrant colors with abstract art, The Biggest Story DVD incorporates stunning images with surprisingly pretty music.  The stories are separated by short chapters, although the narration runs so quickly that it’s hard to find a stopping point in between each story.  If using this in a church setting, I’d suggest that you use the chapter menu to navigate through relevant sections of the DVD.  The Bible stories are told in extremely child-friendly, simple language.  I was fascinated by the simplicity of the bold color scheme, which moves in an interesting sequence through each scene.    Unfortunately, the narrator uses some strong negative words such as “dumb” and “hate.”  Generally, I avoid that type of language even when reading aloud to my kids (I skip over the words, or substitute with something a little gentler.)   We try not to use those words in our home, so I was hoping not to hear them in this children’s DVD. On a happier note, the DVD comes with a digital download key so that you can share the stories with a friend, or load them on a mobile device.

Additionally, the audio CD of The Biggest Story is now available.  This is a great option to use in the car.  We like to listen to stories while driving, and I enjoyed playing this for my kids.  The unique artwork is the only thing you’ll miss with this version.  The dramatic sound effects and moving narration give a high-quality feel to the audio experience.

Which Bible story would you like to hear in The Biggest Story?
