It’s not always convenient to visit a doctor when I need it.  In fact, it’s really never convenient.   Many times, I’ve had to cancel an appointment because I couldn’t get there in time, had an unexpected meeting at work, or just felt so poorly that driving wasn’t smart.  In urgent cases, I’ve taken my children into the doctor’s office with me.  Aside from just keeping them occupied while having a conversation with the doctor, I’m constantly keeping an eyeball on the kids so that they don’t touch anything that’s potentially germy (which is virtually everything in the doctor’s office, of course.)   It’s exhausting to just think about it!  Telemedicine might just be the most convenient thing invented since the cell phone.  With Amwell, it’s simple to get started back on the road to wellness.

I’ve used telemedicine providers in the past, and love the fact that I can get a diagnosis from the comfort of my living room or front porch.  Something specific that Amwell offered that set it apart was the option to choose from different providers with specialty areas.  The wait time for each doctor was clearly displayed, and two doctors were immediately available.   Additionally, the doctor profiles were accessible with one click.  This was extremely valuable information, especially for those who need language assistance.   Amwell lets you create a personal profile to keep track of your past visits, so that you can even request a trusted doctor again.  What a huge bonus for families!

Another important feature about Amwell that you need to know about — the cost.  It’s so affordable!  At just $49 for a video call, Amwell can fit nearly any budget.  In my experience, that’s much less expensive than paying out of pocket at a doctor’s office.  Many insurance providers are accepted through Amwell, so you might even get a bigger bargain!   My co-worker recently had a lapse in her insurance coverage, and has put off going to the doctor because of the cost.  I can’t wait to share Amwell with her!   She’s a working  mom with a limited income; Amwell could really help her out.

Busy moms need to know their options.  Telemedicine can save time, money, and sanity.  If you’re dragging two kids and a diaper bag into the doctor’s office only to talk to the doctor for a few minutes, consider adding Amwell to your toolbox.

Much better cost than an office visit and convenient, too. While I still see the use for going to a doctor’s office for some things. This is a great alternative, and I definitely see the need.
