Book covers melt me. In real life I strive to look beyond surface appearance, but the cover of a book can win me over in a heartbeat. The image on the front of A Promise Kept is no exception.  How could I resist a book that hints of heirlooms, a hope chest, and an log cabin’s attic window?  Instant love.

Robin Lee Hatcher doesn’t disappoint with this new novel.  Heartfelt and deeply moving, this book reached down to my soul.  You really must read the author’s note to sense how cathartic this book must have been to Hatcher.  I could identify with the characters, vulnerable and strong at the same time.  A Promise Kept tenderly reaches across generations to show that God does all things in His time, which is perfect and beyond measure.  The message that God answers prayer in unexpected ways is a golden thread woven throughout two women’s lives.  Spend a few moments in prayer after reading this book to consider the ways in which God has moved in your own life.  A book doesn’t have to declare the words “Devotional” on the front to make it personal.

If you need a message of hope and renewal in 2014, let this be the book to speak to you.

Very true and important lesson. God has a plan but He knows the time table and decides when to do things. We can’t rush Him. The cover is beautiful and fills you with a glowing emotion.

  3. A deeply religious book that I would love to read. I think that it is so true that God works out things in our life for good in his own time. This story sounds very inspirational!

  4. Angela (Romance With A Book) says

It is true… we are a little impatient when it comes to what we want to happen in our lives. God doesn’t always agree with what we need and when it should happen. He knows better than we do. I will be adding this book to my ‘to read’ list. Thanks for sharing your review!

  5. I loved the story behind this book. GOD does answer our prayers but in His time, not ours. Thanks for the review. Maxie
