Free Starbucks gift card for AT&T customers who check with Ting @tingftw

Disclosure: This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic

 @tingftw #savings #mobile #cellphone #ad Possible free $5 Starbucks gift card! Find out more at savingsinseconds.com

When pressed to pick two material objects you’d struggle through the day if you were without, many of you would likely name your cell phone and coffee. I’m among those who would be bleary-eyed without my daily dose of caffeine; I’d also struggle to remember my calendar if my cell phone didn’t keep track of it. If you’re a current AT&T customer, you’re in luck. Current AT&T customers can receive a $5 Starbucks card when they check to see if their device is compatible with Ting (October 20-22, 2015). Note that there’s a limit of one $5 Starbucks gift card per email address and per active AT&T device checked. After the promotion ends, readers will receive an email with a link to print off the gift card.

Good news even if you’re with another cell phone company!! Phones transferred from Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon may also be supported by Ting. The benefits of switching? Paying less for cell phone service! Cold hard cash is a decent consolation prize, don’t you think? [Read more…]

NKJV Study Bible for Kids review

We recently moved to a new city.  Relocating houses means we are also looking for a new home church, since our “old” church is 45 minutes away.  At first it was fun to church-hop. It’s like trying on different outfits to see which one fits best and works for you.  After a while, though, we started to crave a church home. While we haven’t found the perfect fit for us yet, there’s one thing that doesn’t change. God’s word is a constant that helps us to remember what we’re seeking in a new church home.  My son doesn’t have a Bible of his own yet, so the NKJV Study Bible for Kids was perfect for him!  [Read more…]

Win or Lose, I Love You book review and giveaway - savingsinseconds.com

Each month, I look forward to reading a few new Tommy Mommy books from Tommy Nelson. It’s downright spooky  how they always seem to send us just the right titles to fit what we’re going through that month!  The book Win or Lose, I Love You is an endearing look at competition. Whether it’s sibling rivalry, peer pressure for grades, or good sportsmanship, it’s important to teach our kids the right way to handle competition.  [Read more…]

Big savings on #HPink could save you from a late-night run

Disclosure: I received compensation for my post as part of a promotional program with HP and MomSelect. Opinions shared are mine.

#HPink sale #ad

My printer has a sense of humor.

You see, it likes to run out of ink without any warning.  Everything could be printing just fine, then BOOM.  The third page of an essential document pack comes out faded.  When I investigate further (which looks more like panic to the untrained eye), inevitably I find a notification that the printer is out of ink.  One can almost hear the printer chuckling to itself as I stand there trying to figure out what to do.   By the time I put on shoes and speed over to Office Depot, I’ve usually forgotten what brand of printer we own. Sound familiar? Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we fail to stock up on HP ink!  Don’t let yourself get caught in another late night run for a printer cartridge.   [Read more…]

Cash bonus opportunities for bloggers #BloggerOpp

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Opinions shared are mine.

These days, time is limited for posting on my blog. School started back after a relaxing summer, and I’m just trying to keep my head afloat. Add in the sale of our house, purchase of our new home, and The Big Move, and it’s a recipe for insanity. In the meantime, blogging helps me to blow off some steam and have fun! Normally my blog doesn’t generate a huge sum of money….sometimes I make enough to pay for the Amazon giveaways. I do get to read a lot of good books, and have fun sharing new products. Every once in a while, a cash bonus opportunity comes up, and I love taking advantage of those!  If you’re a blogger, you’re probably familiar with ShareASale. Did you know that many of their merchants offer cash bonuses for posts that feature their products? I put together a list to share the ShareASale merchants that often offer cash bonuses. Many posts don’t require a review, so they’re quick and easy.  Sometimes you get an additional bonus for extra traffic and social media posts, but overall there’s no big requirement for blog traffic.  Feel free to apply to one, or all, of the merchants to see if you can use them for your blog!   [Read more…]

The Bishop’s Son book review – Kelly Irvin

The Bishop's Son - book review

I received The Bishop’s Son to review. Post contains affiliate links; opinions shared are mine.

The Bishop’s Son is a great follow up to The Beekeeper’s Son. Kelly Irvin graces her characters with such force and skill, they seem like real people. It rather felt as if a movie was playing! There were many dots to connect in this story. Between the love triangles, forbidden love, and teen pregnancy, many talk show topics were covered. The way Irvin approached it, though, was unexpected. It was difficult to read the sections about the immature parents, because I’ve seen firsthand how that can often turn out. Although I didn’t see how that particular storyline got fully resolved, the ending was satisfactory in a “sigh-worthy” kind of way. [Read more…]

Davidson’s Safest Choice™ eggs make a great Halloween breakfast

Disclosure: I received product coupons to prepare this post. Opinions shared are mine.

Have a few goblins in your house who would like a spooky breakfast on Halloween morning?  Here’s an easy way to make breakfast fun with a gruesome theme!

Davidson's eggs make a great Halloween breakfast! #giveaway savingsinseconds.com

Our breakfast was truly enriched by Davidson’s Safest Choice eggs.  The kids had fun helping me crack the eggs, cook them, and of course — devour them!  For us, making breakfast on the weekends is usually a flurry of arms, extra hands, and little feet standing on their tiptoes to reach the counter.  My dog always knows when we’re making scrambled eggs, so she’s usually underfoot as well.  You can imagine how swirly my eyes get by the end of the meal!   It’s a wonderful time to spend together.  Unfortunately we got so busy with the breakfast that I completely forgot to take photos.  Have you ever pulled something like that?  So in my quest to make things right, I found these fun interactive meals on the Davidson’s site.  Use pizza dough or a piece of toast as a base, add some cheese and a little bit of pizza sauce. Top with a Davidson’s sunny side up egg. Inform your children that you’re serving Giant Eyes for breakfast.  You might even add some bloodshot drama to the egg with streaks of red.  How fun!   [Read more…]

Get slow cooked baby back ribs and fried chicken at Ryan’s

Disclosure: We received meal coupons for posting. Opinions shared are mine.

There are a few things in life that brighten my hubby’s eyes like a good meal. Spending a relaxing day with the family makes him smile.  Other happy moments include spoiling the dog with a good belly rub….taking a drive to look at the autumn leaves….and a big plate of BBQ ribs. When I told him that Ryan’s is bringing back Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs (through October 25), his eyes lit right up!  In fact, he wants to head there tonight for dinner (at our Ryan’s, the ribs are available after 3:30 PM).  Head to the Ryan’s website to find a location near you.  You’ll be eating well!

Ready for a book that will take your breath away?  These nonfiction books are worth the read!

The Tank Man's Son book review

If you were a fan of Oprah’s Book Club, The Tank Man’s Son will be right up your alley.  This memoir is evidence of the way God works for the good of those who love him.  Sad at times, hilarious at certain moments, and definitely inspirational – this book will tug at your heartstrings.  Some parts are so outlandish that it’s hard to believe that this story could even be true.
