Spring Sweeping with Inateck 3-Port USB Hub

Disclosure: I received a product sample. The post and giveaway form contain affiliate links; opinions shared here are mine.

Now that spring is here, we’re all outside doing our regular activities but trying to squeeze in some sunshine.  You’ll find me on the bleachers with my laptop balanced on my lap, or maybe reading an ebook on the Kindle as I lounge on a park bench.  While I like to use these electronics while on the go, it’s much more convenient when I have a USB port or an SD card reader to make things easier.  The Inateck 3.0 USB hub is small enough to fit in my purse, but packs a big punch. It holds 3 USB ports, which are perfect for charging my phone in a pinch.  It also has an alternate plug that works for my husband’s Samsung phone. My SD card can be easily emptied onto the laptop, made ready for new pictures. The Inateck hub is also an ideal travel companion. Don’t you love when your travel buddy can handle extra baggage? When you’re in a hotel and don’t want to carry three different plugs, just pack your cords and this handy hub.  [Read more…]

Buried Secrets book review from Family Christian

Buried Secrets by Irene Hannon - find it at @FamilyChristian #ad savingsinseconds.com
Family Christian sent me the book Buried Secrets to read this week. In true Irene Hannon style, this book is full of mystery and intrigue! Fans of forensic mystery shows, like Bones and CSI, will love Buried Secrets. It also reminded me of Mary Higgins Clark’s style, with the romantic suspense. Since the series is called Men of Valor, Buried Secrets has some predictability to it. Still, there are enough twists to keep it fresh. You’ll be siding with certain characters and chagrined at the behavior of others. Hannon includes small details like Starbucks and familiar news channels; these small details make the story seem so of-the-moment.

You can find Buried Secrets at Family Christian. While you’re there, check out their selection of earth-friendly gear such as water bottles and reusable totes.  What would you purchase with a $25 certificate?  Enter to win the giveaway using the form below. The contest is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law.  Good luck!

Have you ever tried to enjoy family movie night, but found it difficult to find a movie that was appropriate for the tweens to watch? Lately, we’ve been turning off the TV because there’s so much negative content on the channels. Crude humor, sexual innuendos, and excessive profanity pollutes our home through the TV and we just don’t tolerate it. That’s why our family loves to watch movies that are endorsed with the Dove seal of approval. We know that the content will be gentle enough for our daughter’s innocent ears and eyes, yet still provide us with quality entertainment. When we had a chance to watch the inspirational movie The Grace of God, it was perfectly timed for the Easter holiday. [Read more…]

The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies #TheHobbit

Disclosure: While I did not receive product samples, this post and giveaway form contain affiliate links. Opinions shared are mine.

There’s no denying that the entire Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien is incredibly romantic. With the whole elf-turned-mortal thing, and the beautiful scenery, you can’t help but imagine a happily ever after. I loved reading The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings in high school, and when the movies came out I really looked forward to watching them. In the final installment of The Hobbit movies, fans are brought to an epic conclusion that is truly worthy of this classic piece of literature.

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” the third in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpieceThe Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” returns readers to the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world.

Enter to win a Blu-Ray copy of this movie! The giveaway is open to US/CAN readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. [Read more…]

There’s a reason why hospitals don’t let the new parents leave before the car seat is installed.  When that tiny, vulnerable newborn is placed in the car, we must ensure that safety is the TOP priority.   With the 3-way FirmFit system from GB Asana35 AP, parents can rest assured that they can travel safe. Goodbye, Water Cooler. Hello, Keurig. Try #MixCups #singlecupcoffee

#MixCups make the Keurig the new water cooler --- #singlecupcoffee at savingsinseconds.com

The days of standing by the office water cooler to discuss last night’s episode of SNL might be gone, but these days we have the office Keurig.  This exciting change allows co-workers to savor their favorite caffeinated brews while greeting each other after a long weekend, or maybe while spreading holiday cheer.  At home, the coffee maker becomes a soothing comfort zone where just the scent of hot coffee makes people take a deep breath, then sigh. Whether it’s in your kitchen or at the office, here’s how you can make the Keurig a popular place to be!

1.  Provide a great assortment of K-Cups.  Man doesn’t live on coffee alone, friends.  Set out some alternatives, such as tea varieties and hot cider.  It can be pricey to purchase multiple boxes of K-Cups, and you might not have enough office space to hoard it all.  When I received the Mixcups mix of the month box, I knew I had to share it with my work friends. New moms and babies love to be showered with love!

Disclosure: Affiliate links are used in this post and giveaway form. Any commission I might earn helps to supply giveaway prizes like this one.

Amazon was a lifesaver for me when my babies were small! In those early days, I just couldn’t figure out how to get out of the door with two small kids without anyone crying. It was so nice (and easy) to have the necessities shipped right to my door. Right now, Amazon is running a great trial promotion.  When you sign-up for Amazon Mom, you get a 30-Day Free Trial – PLUS a $20 credit and an extra 20% off select Pampers diapers with Subscribe & Save.  There are such amazing savings to be had with that offer!!!  I used Amazon Mom on a regular basis when my son was born.  What a relief to get the diapers and wipes brought to my house before I got to the very last crumpled diaper. Amazon often offers ecoupons, too, so you don’t have to scrap the savings just because you’re shopping online.  In addition to the budget-friendly baby items, we also bought household items and toiletries on Amazon. These days, we use Amazon for everything from entertainment to snacks. We also get most of our gifts there! [Read more…]
